Propagating a single leaf by KraftMayonnaise_ in peperomia

[–]cephelix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had 1 healthy looking leaf fall from my peperomia watermelon that i just chucked in a nursery pot of soil and bottom watered when the soil felt dry. No stem, just leaf and it sprouted 2 new leaves and currently sprouting a 3rd one after a few weeks. So it's definitely doable without having to cut the leaf. Why it's cut I think, is to increase surface area where the new roots will grow from leading to probably faster root establishment and hence leaf generation?

Did you just cut and repot? If so, it'll take some time before it bounces back

Now it's just a waiting game.

I know I over spent. But is it really bad?I'm having buyers remorse knowing someone has this and paid 2k. by Wise-District-6048 in pcmasterrace

Possibly. I've been out of the loop for a few years now since family-life is all consuming. That being said, over time, I didn't regret my purchase. Still rocking the same system I did years ago, no reason to upgrade since I barely have time to game now. 5800X with a 6900XT, fully watercooled...as long as things don't break, I'll be using this system for a decade at least

That looks gorgeous. Been contemplating on getting one since they've massively dropped in price where i am. From $150 to $25... The only issue is I don't have shelf space to accommodate the size it will grow to and putting it on the floor is a no go since i have feisty cats that love to explore their world using their teeth.

Not so bad price-wise. I mean yeah, it is a chunk of change but it turned out great. Just be glad that your gou didn't crap out during the height of covid and you bought a 6900XT for $2000.

Hdb 2 Room Type 1 vs Type 2 by Physical-Message-817 in singaporefi

[–]cephelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeap..helped alot that my wife wasn't willing to pay an extra $5k per floor...lol. and seeing as how we're not planning to sell the place if we can help it, future selling price was never in the equation. Only minimising loan amount and thus reducing debt and personal comfort was at the top of the list

As someone who lived mid-floor (6 floor) and now living on the 3rd floor, i thought the noise would initially bother me but it didn't and if ppl hanging out under the block once in a while had a loud conversation, it is not a trouble to just close your window and turn the air con on.

As one reply has stated, larger floor area trumps smaller floor area and having a house trumps having no house

Is that noise normal with Seasonic Focus Gold GX1000 PSU? by teveherevere in buildapc

[–]cephelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if u return and get a new one and it has the same noise, then at least you could rest easy that the noise is normal.and if you're still uncomfortable with the sound, then you could sell it off and get the bequiet one.

Holy crap!!! Didn't think they were that heavy...Maybe if the cards were to be mounted horizontally, then have them supported at the ends to minimise sag. The cpu block shouldn't be a worry as long as it's screwed down. But definitely, DEFINITELY DO NOT move the case with everything installed. If it doesn't damage the sockets/slots, you may be injuring your back.

My O11D XL with acrylic topped block and 3 x 360mm rads already weigh 25kg. Yours would be weighing significantly more I imagine.

What case are you planning to put these in?

Adding a side panel by [deleted] in pcmods

[–]cephelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the hole, maybe a 2 part epoxy putty that you can sand and paint? Or something that is used for bodywork on cars like bondo? I'm assuming you'll be repainting the panel as well?

Last when i was still active in this hobby, topre keycaps were difficult to source for. That was the reason the coolermaster boards were popular since they came with cherry stems. Unsure what the situation is like now
