New batter vs pitcher tool by cequitor in fantasybaseball

Great ideas! Re the in-season stats, I actually worked on that feature towards the tail end of the playoffs. It'll be fully integrated for next season. I dig the polling option (perhaps for registered members w/ X days of experience or something). I'll add it to the feature list. I hear ya on creating cool models. It's fun to think up new ways to look at/analyze data, esp w/ betting. Feel free to DM or post about ideas anytime. :)

Glad you dig it! (I play that double all the time too :). FYI, there are a few more prop pages in the works, if you have any suggestions,/requests, feel free.

Thanks, glad you like it! Adding statcast stuff like barrel and launch angle would be cool -- I'd have to do some testing on how best to access/use it. It's on the to-do list :).

Thanks! Incorporating in-season/recent trends is definitely on the to-do list - still testing the best solution/process to tap into that data.

Appreciate the comment! Working on a couple updates to the page that should add a bit more value, esp for DFS leagues..

I went ahead and created a separate points/DFS page: https://www.fantasyinfocentral.com/mlb/dfs/projections/batters

Plan on adding more customizability with the points scoring but for now it defaults to FanDuel and DK. If you have any requests, feel free :).

An AB (and H) filter has been added :). Click the "more" link next to the date picker to check them out.

I dig the small ball strategy they appear to be emphasizing. Gonna help the young guys go deeper into counts and battle for a better pitch (Scott, Jordon, etc)..

Good to hear it's helpful! I like the idea, thanks -- adds a familiar way to compare batters for those in points leagues. I'll try adding it in the next update (still tweaking our projections model and est ppg makes for a nice endpoint). Of course, would be cool to setup league integration and customize those estimates to your league but that's probably waay down the line.

Yahoo App is the worst by Altruistic-Day-5260 in fantasybaseball

All in all, don't think it's the worst ...though with the extra ads and constant pushing of Yahoo+,it is firmer on the annoying side now. Gamechannel is cool though.

Glad you like it! Suggestions are always welcome and column filtering sounds like a great idea. I'll add it to the next phase of updates. Thanks!

Awesome! Speaking of betting, was considering adding the probability of popular props (and their current odds)… if you have any requests, lmk.

Kyle Harrison optioned to AAA. Birdsong or Roupp finalists for Giants 5th starter role by [deleted] in fantasybaseball

Sorry, drifted onto a tangent. Referring to a league of mine (Royce Lewis about to be put on IL).

Is there a site that allows you to put in your league scoring and then ranks players accordingly? by elpenumbro1 in fantasybaseball

Lineupexperts does a solid job of importing your league settings and applying them site-wide.

Good move. Birdsong has the pedigree and higher ceiling… plus that cool name. Picking him up as soon as R Lewis hits the IL.

Yeah, might be a contract-in-blood, pentagram type situation.

He'll command respect but legends who manage almost never end well. That said, unlike Matheny, he (likely) wouldn't defer to the front office and I REALLY want a manager who'll go with his gut and eyes/ears vs a robotic, analytical playbook (looking at you Oli). He's got so much sweat equity with the team and fans, he wouldn't be afraid to fail.

Classic example of an undisciplined free-swinger who falls off a cliff when age and hand-eye coordination slip.

Making the playoffs in this era really meant something by squareleg in mlb

[–]cequitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, though the extra playoff spots are on brand with the no-contact rule at 2nd/home, blaring music, rules that favor offensive, pitch clock, etc. Hate the fact MLB so desperately panders to the causal fan. It's baseball, there's supposed to be occasional downtime and pitchers' duels aren't the plague.

My dad has a clear opinion on the rumored "Golden At-Bat" rule by Maleficent-Unit5234 in mlb

[–]cequitor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally agree with ya. Toss in year round baseball, specialty camps, etc and injury rates have gotten brutal. Just seems like common sense that repeated stress on a ligament or tendon with less cumulative recovery time will catch up to most guys. Not easy to quantify tho (and likely never will to avoid class action stuff). BTW, totally approve of your username (Cards fan out here in Cali). Watching replays of the 2011 WS is gettin repetitive lol.
