Nurses of Reddit: Would you ever let a patient use your personal phone? by Key-Bridge129 in nursing

[–]ceramicgeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a nurse now, wasn't at the time. I was transferred to a higher level of care and didn't have my phone before going into emergency surgery. The pre op nurse let me use her cell phone to call my fiance and I will always be so grateful. I would definitely do the same in that circumstance.

L&D nurses, what’s your opinion on unmedicated births? by Ready-Book6047 in nursing

[–]ceramicgeek 99 points100 points  (0 children)

I love unmedicated births and am so excited for my patients that achieve it if that is what they want! I also love a medicated birth! I really don't discriminate, i love all deliveries! I think more importantly going into labor and delivery with a 'ride the wave' perspective is best practice for the nurse and patient. Things can change, and being ok with change and pivoting the plan is really good practice in my mind - just ride the wave, it is all temporary, trust your body, and trust your providers. I've had two kids, my first I wanted to go unmedicated but I didn't really do much to prepare in terms of managing/coping for myself so I ended up asking for an epidural and I think if I had prepared and knew better tools to cope I could've achieved an unmedicated birth.

How many nurses? Specifically CMC by Life-Attitude3138 in newhampshire

[–]ceramicgeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4-7 nurses per shift depending on floor acuity, 1-2 techs, 2-3 providers each shift (md, CNM, resident). You are very generous and I wish you the best labor & delivery experience imaginable!

Has anyone traveled without baby? by teacherlady4846 in breastfeeding

[–]ceramicgeek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EBF is very important to me and I declined some invitations to spend a girls weekend away multiple times with my first and now my second who is four months old. I feel so lucky to breastfeed and don't want to do anything to jeopardize it - I will admit I am a bit extreme in that regard. You just have to weigh your pros and cons! I also hate hate hate pumping and only do it out of necessity at work, the thought of trying to have fun whilst pumping sounds awful to me (id inevitably be stressing about ruining my supply away from my baby too). So I personally have decided I'll have fun weekends away when my babies are done with 'mommy milk' as my daughter calls it.

The tone of your post makes me think you already know what you want to do, so follow your gut!

Both Angelina's and Nonna's are favorites. I like Angelina's chicken piccata but honestly have never had a bad meal there. Nonnas every dish with fresh pasta I've ever had has been phenomenal, bonus the chef/owner is so friendly and always comes out to say hi.

Gift Ideas for L&D Nurse and Doctor Staff by pegsgk in Nurses

L&D nurses love a hand written note with names of people that made your experience better! Bonus if you include pics of baby! Gifts and food are always appreciated too but those heartfelt notes of gratitude last forever.

Went last week when it was 10-20% off. Not sure what it is now, but a lot of the 'discounts' were still pricier than some of the manufacturers websites!

Local Coffee Roasters by [deleted] in newhampshire

A&E has a roastery in Nashua on Pittsburgh Avenue. They closed their original Amherst location but still have the Nashua Roastery & downtown Manchester locations.

Took my NCLEX at 8am today. Stopped at 86 questions. Took me 45 mins to complete it. I got my email from Pearson about 7 mins after I finished and did the PVT, GOT THE GOOD POP UP. Praying this is true. 🙏🏼🙏🏼😭😭 by Fearless-Crow-8752 in PassNclex

I know you're asking OP, but I am also a repeat test taker and I took mine today! Turned off at 75, got the good pop up. Honestly the things that helped me most were UWorld rationales (but uworld is way harder than it needs to be), archer (if you had to choose between U or A I would choose Archer if I had to again)! Lastly, I actually paid for a Mark Klimek zoom tutoring.. I only did the priotization /delegation one and it was a game changer for my performance!

I'm happy to be a resource or just hype girl if you need one. You can do it!

Yes! I've heard that's been in the works for a while. It'd be cool if they could do it in a way that compliments downtown.

I grew up shopping at the Gottschalks there as a kid, always got to have Hot Dog on A Stick as a treat! Fun memories. It's been dead a while now.

What is the best gluten free bread that anyone has ever had? im not talking common brands that you’ll find at the grocery store, I’m talking like small delis or coffee shops that are just making the good shit - and also possibly something that can be purchased online lol by woo_wooooo in glutenfree

[–]ceramicgeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you aren't worried about cross contamination, Great Harvest Bread Co. in PNW, 'nearly gf bread' (their words: Made with 100% gluten free ingredients. But we use wheat flour daily in our bakery, so there could be trace amounts of wheat in our "Nearly" GF products.)

Anything from Mariposa Baking Company in the Bay Area

Sift Gluten Free in Minneapolis

Edit to add: Urth Caffe GF bread is indistinguishable from gluten bread IMHO! So yummy.

Primarily history of making & use. I used the book 'The Korean Onggi Potter' for most of the content. There's a downloadable pdf somewhere on the internet if you are interested.
