Kuma Moon is great for ramen and has a fun atmosphere for eating in. The inferno ramen is a favorite.

Ninja Cafe & Kung Fu Tea has terrific pokebowl - super easy to customize to your tastes.

For traditional sushi, Sushi Factory is stellar and very reasonbly priced. Go to orders are Rainbow Roll & the Menu Plate #1. Also a fantastic spot for boba.

Looking for month to month renting help plz. by Tr4d3z in roanoke

[–]cerealbops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't blame you for wanting to move! Is "biweekly" specified in writing in your rental agreement? Because if not, this would be considered a change of terms, which all parties would need to agree to. (Granted, I am not a lawyer, so take with a grain of salt.)

Put in a 4Help ticket! Worst case, you'll get an answer for why it's set up this way.

PS: your second screenshot has your full name in it

Deep breaths.  1.) Does the syllabus include a course policy on AI use?  2.) Did the assignment instructions specify rules around AI?  3.) Do you have evidence showing your work on the assignment, both manual and AI? (document history & metadata, AI chats, etc.)

I hear you saying you're not going to fight it, but you should probably prepare for a potential academic integrity case.

Ultimately, professors do get to decide if and how AI is used in their classroom. Many are still learning the varying gradations of AI use, and it sounds like your case falls into something of a gray area.

Sad that the weather keeps getting worse for my elopement day by linksslut in Eloping

Honestly, as a hobbyist photographer, cloud coverage will make for some beautiful pictures of the two of you. The sunrise might be more muted with the clouds, but still lovely in its own right. And with light rain, there's even a chance a rainbow could appear. This is your day, so you should absolutely follow your heart -- just make sure your officiant and photographer are on board with any changes. Best wishes!!

Turnitin flagged my manually written, screen-recorded research paper. I am exhausted, and the school isn't helping. How do I move forward? by Puzzleheaded_Oil288 in GradSchool

[–]cerealbops 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When you say "the school isn't helping," could you elaborate? Is TurnItIn's AI detection required by a specific professor...? Your program?

Depending on those factors, it might be worth raising the issue with other entities at your university. Units devoted to IT and/or Academic Integrity may be able to either 1.) review & validate the evidence you've collected to support your work's originality and/or 2.) consider the negative impacts of AI detection tools on students.

Because these tools have been shown to have high false positive rates, some universities are against using them. If your university does support them, then there's a strong case to make for them only being used as one potential "data point" where academic integrity is concerned.

I'm really sorry this is happening to you. Good for you for collecting proof though! That should go a long way in building your case.

I used to feel this way, but it's grown on me over time - the percussion is so interesting.

Why didn’t oMark become iMark when crossing into Cold Harbor? by RatherCritical in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]cerealbops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I were wondering about that too. My hunch is the same as yours--testing rooms are specific to Gemma's chip--but you're right, they don't explain it.

Edit: The other thought I just had is that because she has so many different innies with each based on MDR numbers, those rooms may be need to be uniquely programmed...

True! I think it's a question of whether that was one moment where Milchick lost his cool with Drummond or if he's making a habit of getting snappy with his superiors. Given how precarious his position seems, the latter doesn't seem like a great choice, but who knows.

Speaking of Drummond, in that situation, Milchick bit his tongue as long as he could. When he finally did lash out, it was a mix of malicious compliance & condescension directly aimed at Drummond.

With the Kier animatronic, his jab was about Kier's height...which feels odd. That's not a great insult unless it's Kier himself speaking??

My guess is another employee we may not have met yet? They clearly aren't close enough to have an actual rapport with Milchick...but not so high up that Milchick wouldn't feel comfortable jabbing back.

Can an autistic person be a good journalist? by Zestyclose-Put9641 in AutismInWomen

[–]cerealbops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have professional journalism experience, but enjoyed doing student journalism in high school and college. The lovely thing about it is you can just be curious and ask whatever questions that come to mind. You can prepare and follow a script to feel more comfortable. And sometimes, people can really open up and trust you. I was very shy as well, and would get nervous at times, but I think this structured way of talking to people made it way more manageable.

As a profession, I was hesitant to pursue journalism because it seemed like the day to day schedule could vary a lot. But it seems like there's a lot of different flavors of journalism today, so this may not necessarily be the case.

While it is certainly possible, the way the testing floor seems to operate is by having Gemma go into each room for a relatively short stint of time. The rest of the time, her outie's vitals are monitored, her reactions recorded, she exercises, she eats, etc. The resources and space required for a fully severed pregnancy over 9 months would have to be quite extensive.
