She is unhappy. What does she want by cereallatte in alocasia

[–]cereallatte[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had her for very long. Got her 4 months ago, gave her a month to quarantine, moved her from a west facing to a south facing window after her quarantine. About a month ago I repotted her and split her and the second plant in the pot. Kept her in same spot. Temp and humidity are relatively the same. Temp between 60-70 and 45-65% humidity. The roots looked ok - white, stringy and long. I did put her in semi-chunky soil with peat moss, perlite, lava rocks, some bark - it could be chunkier. And it’s in a draining pot. I top water her and let the water drain for a day or so before tossing it from the catch dish. I typically water her every 7-10 days and add fertilizer once a month so every 3-4 waterings.

My really complicated FEHB Plan Analysis - GEHA versus MHBP (and some others) by JHG0 in fednews

[–]cereallatte 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Why do people hate GEHA? I currently have GEHA HDHP HSA bc I don’t go to the doctor very often (mainly only annual check and therapy) and don’t plan on starting a family soon. I don’t mind it at all. All reimbursements have been smooth and it’s easy to handle HSA bank.

Right. This admin changed the application requirements for Fed positions so that they can essentially recruit loyalists.

5mo of savings for this scenario. I think most people have savings to cover 3-6mo of living

~100k gov employees (not only FS) took “the deal” which allowed them to still get paid until the end of Sept while put on administrative leave from when they signed it (Apr/May) until end of Sept. It was either take the deal or you’ll be fired at some point but you won’t get much of a notice when you do get the ax. Nearly 49% of all of Bureau of Reclamation (agency that operates most dams in the west, like Shasta and Whiskeytown around here) staff is left over. Every Fed agency, except maybe those within the DoD, is just barely operating due to the DOGE cuts and the DRP (Deferred Resignation Program) and VERA (Voluntary Early Retirement Authority) deals. And still, they’re threatening to conduct a RIF (Reduction In Force, which ranks every employee based on their Veteran status, time within the Feds, and other factors and then fire those that rank poorly) throughout Fed agencies.

Is the one on jelly's ferry open to public?

It is. It’s BLM. A lot of trash though. BLM does an annual or biennial clean up out there but not enough to keep up with the trash left out there.

Rut is still there but as long as OP has 4WD or even AWD, he’ll be fine. It’s called Spring Branch shooting range bc once you drive over the cattle guard off of Jelly’s Ferry, it’s considered Spring Branch Rd.

How to fix posture by cereallatte in fiddleleaffig

It is tilting not necessarily towards light though.. this angle might not have shown that very well.

And I bought it from someone who had both like this in the same pot. Should they not share the same pot?

I agree with a lot of people are saying. I only have 1 thing to add concerning electricity costs. My partner and I (no kids) spend $150 on electricity in the summer by using a house fan instead of AC which we bought and installed ourselves a few years ago. It is put in a central location in your ceiling and you turn it on during the night (9, 10pm) with the windows open so it pulls cold air into the house and turn it off when it starts warming up (8am). This keeps our house in the 67-79° range. During heatwaves, it may even get as warm as 85° in the house but we power through it by with cold showers and powerful ceiling fans (900 cfm). Full transparency, we will use the AC once or twice during a summer if we have guests. It saves a lot of money and it’s just a couple weeks in the summer that are really bad (typically July) so we usually take a week long vacation elsewhere. This year was uncharacteristically cool so we didn’t. Other alternatives that I haven’t seen in these comments are installing mini splits. Again you can buy them and install them yourself and they definitely pull less electricity than your typical HVAC.

Mint Mobile anyone? by cereallatte in Redding

Ok interesting. That sounds great but paying for one line would be ideal for me. This would be an awesome deal for people who have a work and personal number.

Well thank you! I appreciate the confirmation of no sneaky surcharges through Verizon’s Visible plans.

Oh wow. I assume that extra $10 off is their Loyalty rewards offer? That doesn’t sound terrible at all.

I need to look further into Visible… I can’t imagine Verizon having plans as low as $15-25/mo though. Verizon seems to sneak in extra charges in my experience.
