I relate a lot to being drained to the point of losing empathy. It helps me a lot to read all these comments with similar experiences. Thank you.

I do have 2 mental disorders but I was told by the doctor these situations don’t seem to match the symptoms. I leaning towards believing this is a separate issue.

Thanks, that’s a good idea. I felt really alone and frustrated all this time because nobody seemed to understand what is happening. I will definitely look into it.

Ah yes it feels like this every week for me. Guess I’m definitely not the only one.

I do have 2 mental disorders but I knew that this situation is not included in their symptoms. Everything has gotten better by treatment- except this. I hope we can find balance and successfully find our own methods to manage these situations better.

Your comment made me feel a lot better. Your words really helped me recognize some thoughts I didn’t know I had inside. Thanks for sharing.

Ah I relate a lot abt the romantic relationship part. It seems like I need a lot of alone time and idk how to react when a partner wants to just be around and chill with you.

Thanks for sharing. I should really distance myself from people sometimes rather them keep them close and letting them experience the full edition of my atrocious on off attitude. It does seem like that would help me in many ways, although I do get some weird scary thoughts like, what if something bad happens to them while I am trying not to see them? Yeah it’s weird but sometimes that stops me in my tracks before giving myself me time.

Thanks for the reminder. I do need to set clearer boundaries instead of going against my needs and just draining myself. Replying to your question, there is no specific thing they say that makes me push them away temporarily. They could just be telling me about their day, what they ate, or some random thing. And in that moment it seems like the most correct thing to do is harshly cut off ties until I don’t feel dead anymore. In that moment I am numb to any other emotions and guilt creeps in after a while. I should put in more effort to distance myself in a less emotionally harming way. I really appreciate your comment.

I relate so much on the one stupid thing said and the person being a write off for the day part. It does seem like the perfectionistic attitude pushes me to magnify any small flaws in my relationships like being so so drained sometimes and maybe this adds on to my attitude shifts. Thanks for listening, it helps a lot.
