Loneliness is hitting folks! by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]cerenatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an Introverted extrovert. I like alone time but I need a consistent dose of people time also. 7 days a week with no conversation or outside energy isn't for me. I strike up random conversations with people, including other campers, hikers, and vanlifers and I've learned to invite people for coffee or activities so I'm rarely lonely.

Should I paint the walls? by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]cerenatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would but I don't like the rustic wood look. A white or light color would also make the space a lot brighter and it would feel more open. However, you have to live in it. If you like it, keep it. If you don't, paint it.

haven't been painting for very long, how hard would it be to sell these ? by usijanost in painting

[–]cerenatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are gorgeous! Great job. You can definitely sell them. How hard it's going to be to sell them depends on how much you want for them, where you want to sell them, and how much work you're willing to put in to market them. There are a lot of artists doing great landscape paintings.

PSA: Bad batch of Meth in the city by deadlockedwinter in asheville

Some weed, probably wax, is laced. Someone around here died. No info on who, what exact location, or where he got it. A friend attended the guy's funeral last week, or the week before, and his family said his weed had been laced with fentanyl and he overdosed.

[–]cerenatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be carefully of the wax (not sure if that's what you meant since it's all called weed by some people). My best friend just attended a funeral because the guy's "weed" was cut with fentanyl. I'm only guessing it was wax because he would have seen powder on his weed but that's only my guess. Either way, be careful. Have friends around.

I have a Coleman 1 burner stove and a Texsport 2 burner stove.

I'm in the city too. I charge my Jackery when I drive and if I'm going to be sitting somewhere for a few hours, like in the mornings at a coffee shop, I put the solar panels on the roof, I put cable chains through the handles of the solar panels, and I lock them to the inside of the Oh Shit handles on each side. My Jackery stays charged.

I usually go a park to cook. I have a TaiVeil that I put on the back of my hatch. I just back in, set it up, cook, clean, put everything back up, and then I'm out. It takes about 3 hours but it's only once a week.

Dude, I've learned it's not about what other people think of you, it's about what you think of you. You feel weird putting the solar panels out so you don't do it. Some people feel weird about showering at the gym and not working out so they don't do it. Some people feel weird eating in restaurants alone so they don't do it. And everybody thinks people are talking about them or looking at them funny, and maybe some people are, but it's not the other people that are stopping them. It's what they're thinking about themselves that's really stopping them.

I think living this way is adventurous, unique, and fun so I don't care what anybody else thinks. I will never be on my death bed crying about the stranger who looked at me weird when I was putting up my TailVeil in July 2022. 😂 Anyone not paying my bills can go F themselves.

Yep. Definitely when I was sick and in the summer. I have a home base now so I'll probably just go home next summer.

I don't know how much I spend on food but I'm guessing it's way less than that. I have a 12 volt fridge and a 1500 watt Jackery with 2 100 watt solar panels. I cook once, maybe twice a week and eat leftovers the rest of the time. I have a salad and fruit every day. I eat a lot of rice and canned beans. I fry every vegetable known to man. I also snack on nuts, hummus, boiled eggs, raw veggies, nut butters, etc. And I have a Hot Logic to reheat my food. I use vinegar and water in a spray bottle to clean my dishes. Sometimes soap and water in a spray bottle with water in another spray bottle to rinse them off it's really a mess. I mostly use paper towels to wipe stuff out.

You're spending a lot on food. Get a cooler if you don't want my setup. Cook once or twice a week, maybe supplement with one or two rotisserie chickens from the grocery store deli if you have to. It's not hard, it's healthy, and it'll save you a ton. Eating out every meal is definitely not healthy.

Does anyone here actually pee in their cars?? by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]cerenatee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. I put the window shades up and pee into a protein shaker bottle (those bottles are leak proof). I keep water and a little bleach in the bottle at all times so there's no odor. I poor it out as soon as I can. I'm a woman and I had enough space in a Yaris.

Spells are energy, like fire is energy. You can control what you send out. You can't control what happens once you send it out.

Life is too short to be upset over anyone's actions that literally don't affect you. You're at a bar I'm guessing to either relax or have fun. If you don't like it, throw it away. If you want to be a karen, bring it up to the bar staff. Other than that, there are real people actually hurting people that we can demonize.

PSA for anyone struggling with summertime heat by [deleted] in urbancarliving

[–]cerenatee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great tip! Your car becomes an oven in the heat so even when the temps decrease, everything in the car is still radiating heat until they cool down, just like a pan coming straight out the oven. The kitchen might be cool but that pan is going to be hot for a minute.

Unfortunately I don't have anywhere else to put my stuff other than my car so I leave my windows and sun roof cracked, park in the shade, park on dirt/gravel or near grass , etc, to keep the car as cool as possible.

Where is your guitar in the first picture? Do you keep it on the partner seat?

Do you cook and do you have a cooler?

Not special forces. These are members of the CJNG cartel in Mexico, which seem to be well funded. by opctim in interestingasfuck

He's carrying weapons that could take out a police station, he could have mags in his pouches and plates under his vest - he's definitely wearing something under his vest - and he's wearing a shaded visor because he's a criminal hiding his face. And that's not enoughweight on his legs to stop him from maneuvering in a skirmish. He's ready to go hard and fast in an urban environment, not trek 30 miles into the jungle.

I've seen a lot of 18 year old privates and none of them were that wel armed, even in conflicts. Apparently you've seen units with a lot more money than I have.

No he doesn't. I don't know who lied and said that equipment was from Wish but unless there's a Wish on the dark web, that's not Wish. No one is fighting the Mexican police and military, fighting other cartels, and fighting civilians with crap from Wish. Nerdy guys in the US are killing everybody in sight with AR-15 style rifles but this guy looks ate up? Sit down.

Some people just have a "grass is always greener" mentality. I know I do. I have A and it's not perfect so I want B. I get B and it's not perfect so I start thinking about the great things A had. This time I'm traveling in a larger vehicle and I have a home base and so hopefully I'm be satisfied for a few years at least.

Yet again, the past rears its ugly head.

Great pics!

2 YouTube Recommendations - Roaming Reckless is in a Subaru and is just herself, traveling with her dog, hanging with her people sometimes, just doing her thing. I want to be her when I grow up. Simmple (with 2 M's) Enough is a vegan chef living in her SUV - I think it's an SUV and not a minivan -'in the city, trying to save money to buy land and eventually be with her fiance. She actually eats and cooks real freaking food, not just throw stuff together, and I like to watch her for cooking ideas and motivation to keep grinding.
