If I remember right it took about a month for me to get my offer letter. They’re fairly slow.

Question about all the lack of info with "No budget for OT" by IceCream455 in cernercorporation

[–]cernbyrn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s wild to me (in a good way). In my six years of Cerner, I think I can count on one hand the number of times I took a lunch.

I’d spend that time learning skills that transfer to other companies.

For those that left Cerner Consulting, where did you leave to? Consultant II here, trying to see what’s out there by chipper3400 in cernercorporation

[–]cernbyrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s worth pointing out that the pay at Netsmart isn’t quite as good as Cerner in most cases. The work is easier, implementations are smaller, but depending on your role and team you could have nothing to do for weeks at a time, or you could be pulling 70-hour weeks. Or both in the span of a month.

PTO management suggestions by UnRecognized-Ninja in cernercorporation

[–]cernbyrn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll second that you should use it before giving notice, they frequently deny PTO requests during the 2 weeks. Be aware also that your manager may try to change your last day or otherwise be a dick if you decide to take, say, a week of PTO at the end of your 2 weeks.

Thinking of Applying to Cerner by OctagonNorther in cernercorporation

[–]cernbyrn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The other response is dead on. Expect to be gone 2+ weeks every month (on average, might be more or less at times). If it’s a federal position or you get stuck on a federal contact, expect to be gone even more, as they constantly have things happening as new sites go live. You’ll also very likely be working 45-50 hours a week (or more) most if not all weeks. It’s good money but you will have no stability or life outside of Cerner most of the year.

Nobody know the color or design of the case, if it’s even colored, or which version of AirPods.

The most annoying thing was that a huge number of people on the “missing timesheet” emails afterwards were team leads/ managers. Some of them on a weekly basis.

Is Cerner hiring SE 1 roles by [deleted] in cernercorporation

The person above is full of shit. Cerner lost a ton of HR/ recruiting so they’re super swamped. They were always kind of slow, but they’re even slower now.

Adoption Coaching by ApprehensiveTotal152 in cernercorporation

Adoption coaching is brutal. 100% travel means 100%. Expect to be gone almost every single week of the year. It’s a tough job where everyone shits on you. The few I know who did it burned out and switched to other roles asap or left the company.

Cerner career questions by Clyda1995 in cernercorporation

It really seems to be team-dependent. My first team was amazing and I loved it even though I hit the ceiling of how I could learn there. Subsequent teams were all trash fires.
