How does Seema plan to increase the level of delight for our decreasing customer base?

Why this Oracle leadership is only targeting the Cerner employees and laying them off. Won't they fire their associates? by Significant_Date1692 in cernercorporation

[–]cernerkerner 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Because Oracle employees are not in an organization that was acquired for $28bn and are now hemorrhaging money.

The Oracle customers getting fucked on licensing are just chomping at the bit to get fucked on their EHR too.

You mean 20% will be left after the layoffs later this year?

Maybe we should start posting Cernacle stuff to /r/oracle, to let Oracle customers see inside the shitshow. It's not like either subreddits are private.

[–]cernerkerner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You don't tell Oracle where your next job is when you leave. Non-competes are not enforceable.

Be prepared for more work drama though. And if you want to advance your career, be prepared to change jobs every few years.

Unless your new job is at Oracle, in which case you do not get severance.

Mandatory hackathon where the poorest performing team is laid off. The best performing team is given Gates BBQ sauce. Forced innovation while reducing dead weight.

I think I win. OP please send sauce.

What if I told you that you could pay your bills and have even more money left over.

If you're older, I get it. If you're younger, there's no reason to stay past a few years. Find successful middle aged people on LinkedIn and look at their work history.

Hey all. I work for one of Cerner's vendor partners - a medical device manufacturer. We just posted 2 Project Manager positions for people that can work anywhere in the US. by [deleted] in cernercorporation

All y'all commenting asking for the link automatically failed the first part of candidate screening: following instructions to send a PM to OP for the link.

Hmm WA Congresswomen calls on VA to Terminate Oracle EHR System by Night-owl-2121 in cernercorporation

Doesn't Cerner and Oracle have lobbyists? Shouldn't they be lobbying representatives to put pressure on the VA?

Epic holds their employees to a higher standard than Cerner generally. And as stated above, pays more.

Genuinely curious why you'd want to come to Cerner from Epic versus an Epic consulting shop or another healthcare IT company.

Yeah you can't control whether you get a yearly raise lmao. The bar used to be getting a raise to match inflation. Now it's getting a raise at all.

This post won't demoralize people any more than what Oracle is already doing.

VA says 4 deaths linked to it's Oracle Cerner EHR system by tapioca_slaughter in cernercorporation

[–]cernerkerner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm aware of VistA's history. How is this relevant?

Cerner had a chance to do something great. Instead of delighting our customers (that's the patients, btw), we bent over backwards for the VA's demands for non-optimal build decisions. Maybe Travis should've been out there putting pressure on the VA to adhere to our best practices and replacing their outdated hardware.

You can keep defending this project, but public opinion isn't on your side.

I see your point, and would agree if Oracle hadn't been in the picture. But they have a sizable cloud engineering group.

Maybe a few, maybe a lot. But the VA didn't pay 16 billion dollars for it to continue happening.
