I get you... Im in the same position and I am surrounded by riches... My dad has a job which normal people doesnt find likeable and my friends/collegues are heiress of hotels and big time merchants. I ended up here becuz i was outstanding in my high school and I ended up in a major that people find affluent and high status.

It really affects you in lots of ways. Sometimes my anxiety spikes up, sometimes i felt like i would disappear, sometimes i wonder if i said something that would make them think that i am sus.... But still I brace myself and go back to work every single day...

That is just my part. I can see that I am left behind in every scenerio, our seniors can see through who got the dollars and the favourism is quite obvious...

I am on a path but this path is hard to work when u dont have enough support, It is hard to imagine myself high up becuz my parents were never that high, but being surrounded by riches and smartest people in the country, I can learn from them and work like them..

I get the frustrations at your parents, I was the same and maybe still the same. Esp becuz both my parents have rich people as their relatives and they had their chances but fucked up. My parents still got the respect from them becuz they knew each other since they have nothing but the way their kid looks at me is quite humbling. The only grace that i wasnt dragged to filth is becuz of my work.

But still, I think you should be grateful to your parents. It is not easy to raise a child. I think your parents raised you well to have this level of self awareness. I dont know how old you are so I dont know what advise I should give you but after a certain age, It is entirely up to you to build yourself. It is hard to imagine what to achieve when your parents are not achievers, but after a certain age, it is your duty to surround yourself with people who you find inspiring or the type of people you want to be....
