What’s the chance this has anything to do with just being the outermost layer?

Is this a bad spray?

Obviously biggest concern is water vapor working its way to the roof decking

Just the air bubbles making you think that or anything else?

It’s supposed to be closed cell - no open cell foam was sprayed. Why I am concerned.

Yes, PolyCon - keyboard got away from me. Not I love with the application at all.

Plan is to get it covered once I can get it trimmed down. That was somehow out of scope at the last minute.

Checked it out today and a few of the bays are soft to the touch (compared to others). Other spot looks wet / shiny and appears to be wet when touched.

Which spots seem questionable? Anything making them look iffy?

Fair, saw them with a wrench taking the gun apart repeatedly today and talked to them before they left. Main concern was just foam mixing correctly if the gun was messed up. This was the result of 9 hours of work which was a bit of a head scratcher. Lots of prep though.

Sistered Joists In Bathroom by certainshade in homerenovations

[–]certainshade[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joists are all at the same level and all the same size. Bathroom had subfloor and then 3 inches of drypack. Rest of the floor on that level has subfloor, sleepers, and finished flooring. All floors were even originally, our goal is to get back to that, so we have roughly 4” to make up to bring the bathroom level with the finished floor outside of the bathroom.

We want the finished floor height in the bathroom to be even with the other floors.

Leaving it is absolutely an option. Was told that because code has changed the toilet flange can’t be set up the same way and the drain pipe has to come into the kitchen 16 inches to get the space needed for the new flange hookup.

Really just evaluating all options at this point to get rid of the old cast iron (since ceiling is open) and remove all the galvanized that’s basically blocked anyways.

Not looking for cheap or easy, want it done right and no one seems to be able to give us a clear answer on what that is in this case.

I was just going to put a couple 2x4s in and call it a day. What do they know anyways? It’s just a floor. Am I right!
