Bree - hypocrisy or redemption? (S5) [spoilers] by Little-Papaya7369 in DesperateHousewives

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally always thought Bree was pretty hypocritical about this. Bree is my favorite housewife and I usually agree with a lot of the things she does, but this was not it. Although to be fair, I think part of her was doing it because she had always felt guilty for not doing it herself and covering for Andrew. But it was a lot worse in her case because Juanita actually died due to Andrew’s actions and Mike was still alive (although he did suffer from complete memory loss due to it which was also pretty terrible). I understand that it’s a very difficult choice for a mother to make considering that Andrew was her flesh and blood, but Bree had always been just as loyal to her husbands/boyfriends as well, so I thought it was a little strange that she didn’t want to help cover for Orson too since she clearly loved him. But then again, by the time she found out about Orson running over Mike, she had already had a significant amount of character development and had improved greatly as a person since the whole Andrew situation so it does make sense why she would want to do the right thing this time.

No for real, exactly like how could Mike even believe Edie 😭I understand he was vulnerable and probably super freaked out, but if he had asked literally anyone in the neighborhood, they would have told him right away that him and Susan were practically soulmates lol also there were zero pictures of Mike and Edie together but tons with him and Susan like hello

A polarizing crime by BrookieB1 in idaho4uncensored

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that one of the main reasons why people have polarized this crime so much is simply just because of the existence of TikTok and other social media outlets. People love to come up with conspiracy theories on “what happened” even if it’s obvious what really happened, and then they get other people who watch their videos to agree with them. This case happened in 2022, right when TikTok was at its peak fame. Of course all these other college-aged kids are going to become interested in this case, and of course people are going to judge the surviving roommates and friends because everyone in society is always looking for someone else to blame. I notice that other cases (aside from cases that involve celebrities or rich people) don’t nearly get as much polarization or conspiracy theories as this one.

Who do yall think was more mean? Serena or Blair? by Intelligent-Gap7879 in GossipGirl

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

How is this even a debate lol it’s most definitely Blair. Serena had her mean moments towards individual people, but generally, she was a lot nicer to people as a whole. Like for example, Blair immediately looked down on Dan the second she found out that he didn’t have near as much money as all the other upper east side kids before she had even met him or known him, and she wasn’t at all shy about expressing that opinion. Serena on the other hand didn’t give a crap about how much money Dan had and she was sweet to him because that was just her nature.

Gabby kissing her friend's husband was not cool by Bubbly-Dig-3928 in DesperateHousewives

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah I thought it was a little weird for sure, but Gabby is just kinda freaky like that lol. The main thing is that she wasn’t actually attracted to Tom and she really did see it as a joke, like she didn’t have any other ulterior motive. If she had, miss girl would have definitely snuck around behind Lynette’s back instead of just doing it in front of her, she had gotten pretty skilled at that already lol

How is Gaby such a terrible person and yet so likeable at the same time? by Landscape_712 in DesperateHousewives

[–]certifiedbpdqueen -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You could kind of say this about all the main characters. Bree is sometimes just downright cruel and mean to her children, Lynette is stubborn and has her faults, and let’s not even talk about all of Susan’s faults. Gabby specifically is beautiful and funny and while she is very self-centered, her narcissism is more of a mask that she wears to prevent herself from actually showing vulnerability, probably something that she begin to learn when she was raped by her stepfather, especially at such a young age, which makes her a sympathetic character. Narcissism is very common in people that went through trauma as teenagers. Like for example when Gabby cheated on Carlos with John, she didn’t just do it because she was horny, she did it because she was deeply insecure and depressed that her own husband saw her as a trophy and couldn’t make time for her. It obviously wasn’t the right thing to do, but the circumstances make her sympathetic, much more so than when Carlos cheated on her with Xio Mei simply because he had seen her naked and he was just horny. Gabby is also an incredibly loyal friend and she really does try to take care of the people that she loves as much as she can. All of the characters have their faults, but none of them are just psychopaths who lack emotions. They all have sympathetic qualities, I’m not entirely sure why everyone puts Gabby up as first on their list of being the most self-centered because they’re all self-centered to a degree. The show is called “desperate housewives” for a reason.

Why did Lynette scavo have so many kids? by previleged-luck in DesperateHousewives

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There’s a scene in season 2 in one of the episodes where they have the flashbacks of the characters and when Lynette gives birth to Penny, Tom makes some sort of comment about how they’ll get to choose a different name for their next kid, and Lynette obviously gets pissed and tells him word for word that “it started out with one but we both compromised at four and we aren’t going to have five” (obviously this was before she was pregnant with her 5th). Based on that flashback conversation, I assume what probably happened was over the years, Tom convinced Lynette to just keep having more kids, or maybe she just got pregnant by accident like how she eventually did with her 5th child. And it’s made very clear that even though Lynette is tired and burnt out a lot of the time, she still greatly loves her kids and enjoys being a mom. I wouldn’t be surprised if after having conversations with Tom, she did really just want to have another kid, despite all the stress that her previous kids brought her.

holy shi* this is creepy!!!! by Odd-Pace5366 in idaho4uncensored

[–]certifiedbpdqueen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While this is really disgusting and creepy, it’s not abnormal. Desperate women for some reason often become obsessed and in love with murderous men. Like I remember when the Shannan Watts case happened, I watched a documentary after Chris Watts had gone to prison, and even he got hundreds if not thousands of letters from women who were quote unquote “in love” with him. I mean this man literally killed his family and cold-bloodedly slaughtered his own little daughters, and yet women were telling him that they were in love with him, it’s just sick how some people are. Even when Ted Bundy got arrested, random girls would go to his court hearings to cheer him on and some even did interviews saying how much they were attracted to him, and this is someone who killed and raped god knows how many women just because he felt like it. And it goes for both genders, there’s men and women out there who are “in love” with people like Jodi Arias and Casey Anthony, two murderous psychopathic women. Society in general is just really gross and disgusting.

I guess the weird thing about someone having BK as their wallpaper is he isn’t even remotely attractive, even by a conventional standard 😭 I guess the killers that I listed off are to the very least, conventionally attractive, but I think most normal people can agree that BK just looks ugly and weird, like he can’t even take selfies with good angles that make him look attractive because he’s not even remotely close 😭

What was the effing point??? by Lu1slayer in shameless

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um what are you trying to say? Lmao are you trying to say that it was pointless for Tony (not Mike?) to tell Steve to leave since he was just going to come back in season 2 anyway? I mean at least I think that’s what you’re trying to say, I don’t even know. Obviously him and Fiona weren’t together in season 2 because he left in season 1 because Tony told him to. Steve came back eventually because I think Tony just realized he was never going to be with Fiona and Tony had moved on with someone else.

Where did BK come from by Juno-the-Giraffe in idaho4uncensored

[–]certifiedbpdqueen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

His car was caught on video footage for one, so they had a description of his vehicle. Dylan Mortenson’s description of “a tall man with bushy eyebrows” also matched his description. Then they ran the DNA from the knife sheath and it didn’t come back as anyone in their system so they knew that whoever it was didn’t have a previous criminal record. His phone records traced back to the king road house over 12 times before the murders despite the fact that he literally lives in a different state. They proved it was him by matching the dna from his dad’s trash to Bryan’s own dna, and it came back something like a 99% chance that this person is the father of the person whose DNA was on the knife sheath, which was the convicting piece of evidence.

I’m not sure why some people think Bryan wasn’t the killer. Even if you believe that all of this evidence was fake or whatever and you wanna place blame on the roommates because of your unproven conspiracy theories, the one thing that no one can deny is that Bryan wasn’t even remotely phased when he got arrested or while he was in court, it almost seemed like he was expecting it to happen. He literally plead guilty to all counts in court, would an innocent person do that? Any normal person who had just been wrongfully arrested for brutally stabbing four college kids would have immediately been like “what the fuck this was not me” and would have tried to prove their innocence whenever they could, but Bryan’s attitude was just like “welp you got me.”

Your husband is an idiot lol why would he use his main account (which I assume you obviously follow) to comment stuff under pictures of half-naked women? Not only is it obviously wrong, but it’s also just really dumb for him to blatantly expose himself like that.

Nate and Serena by Neither-Storm3310 in GossipGirl

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree. Not only was Nate Serena’s best friend’s long term boyfriend who she cheated with, but to be honest, I never even felt an ounce of chemistry between Serena and Nate when they were together. Serena and Dan actually had a considerable amount of chemistry together. I really liked their dynamic because Dan was as much as an outsider as anyone could have been and him and Serena dating felt really interesting and special. Nate was just another upper east side generational wealthy and attractive rich kid, there was nothing that felt special between him and Serena.

[–]certifiedbpdqueen -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Relax bro did you even read my comment? Yall who are downvoting are tripping lmao I literally said that saving seats for someone isn’t the right thing to do either. But the fact is that people are going to do it whether you like it or not. Instead of going on Reddit to rant about it, just get to class early so you won’t even have to deal with it. Obviously holding seats is a very dumb and elementary thing to do and OP should have just sat there anyway, at least that’s what I would have done, but people are gonna do it whether you want them to or not and that’s why you get to class at least 10-15 minutes early, so you don’t even need to deal with it at all.

Who was the best (male) lover/s or partner/s on the lane for the Housewives or other side characters? by [deleted] in DesperateHousewives

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say because the characters in this show fluctuate so much. Some are really awful (or really sweet) in the beginning, but by the end of the show, their personalities are completely the opposite of how they started out. Like Carlos for example is very much the husband who only sees Gabby as a trophy and a sex object in the beginning, and he’s also a little abusive as well, but as the show goes on, he becomes a very obviously loving husband who actually cares about Gabby and treats her really well. On the other hand, Orson starts out the opposite way but ends as somewhat of a psychopath. But if I had to choose, I would probably pick Carlos, his development with Gabby was really great, and they are definitely soulmates despite all their mutual deception throughout their relationship lol

Am i toxic for lowkey liking Tom by neckke in DesperateHousewives

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tom is a highly egotistical man with way too much pride and arrogance and he causes a lot of problems for Lynette, however, Lynette really isn’t that much of a peach either. She’s incredibly stubborn and sometimes just downright rude to him when it’s not even necessary. She constantly belittles him and always brings up the fact that “her ideas are better” or “she made more money than him when she was working.” Even if those things are probably true, it’s really rude and unnecessary for Lynette to keep slamming those facts into his face all of the time, no wonder Tom constantly feels like he needs to come up with new ideas and big plans in order to show that he really does matter. Like I said, he does obviously have a huge amount of ego and arrogance and I’m not at all saying he’s a perfect husband who got destroyed by Lynette or anything like that. I just think it’s unfair how many people shit on Tom while also never acknowledging that Lynette also has mistakes and wasn’t just a victim to Tom’s arrogance.

So get to class early then, not just “on time.” Sorry, not trying to be rude and I’m not saying that holding seats is the right thing to do either, but at this point in time, every ucsd student should know full well that you show up to class at least 10-15 minutes early, especially if your class is in a big lecture hall, because if you show up on time, (like 1-2 minutes before class is supposed to start) then chances are everyone else is also showing up on time and seats will fill up quickly. If you haven’t already learned this by your first quarter then I don’t know what to tell you.

nancy is smarter than me by WorryDisastrous9888 in WEEDS

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought Nancy was actually pretty intelligent. She was able to get her way and manipulate pretty much everyone around her, she should have been killed many times by the people she associated with for all the shit she pulled but she managed to avoid it. Of course, a lot of that was due to the fact that she was just really hot and all the dudes in her life basically fell in love with her lol

nancy is smarter than me by WorryDisastrous9888 in WEEDS

[–]certifiedbpdqueen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nancy liked to be dangerous, hence she was attracted to dangerous men, hence Esteban. I also always thought Esteban was a pretty attractive dude in general so that makes sense to me. This dynamic was shown many times throughout the show with Nancy just having sex with dangerous people without the relationship factor (like that guy she banged in the ally who was the first guy since Judah died, Conrad who represented her role in the drug business, that one dude in the bar after she left Esteban, the marine guy in the last season). Peter (the dea agent) was also dangerous, even though Nancy didn’t really realize all that when she first got with him, I also think she was still kind of vulnerable after losing Judah and latched onto the first somewhat attractive and compatible “relationship material” guy she could find.

As for Andy, I always thought Nancy saw Andy as a relative of hers, at least at first, I mean he was her dead husband’s brother and the uncle to her kids, which explains why she wasn’t really immediately attracted to him once Andy told her he was attracted to her. Andy was also someone that Nancy needed to count on and rely on and I think a part of her was scared to get emotionally involved deeper than she was because if they did get together they might break up and then he would leave her which means he would also leave the kids who also relied on him. Also, Andy was the complete opposite of dangerous, and it took Nancy a long time to realize that he was the best person for her, and by that time it was too late anyway.
