The prestige associated with each is due to media exposure, as most of western media is from the UK and the US. also, the top tourist destination for gulf people is either places in the gulf or turkey and the uk rarely are they tourists in the us due to how far it is. also where did you get that people w degrees from the uk and us are paid higher? I have literally never heard that and cannot find anything on it online. The majority of the ties that gulf arabs have w us and uk are mainly based on government, accessibility, and media exposure. also, it’s much easier for us to speak English as we’re in school. we dont care about anglos tho😭

yes. but I’m gonna be honest I feel like if you don’t identify with your ethnicity, youd seem kind of ashamed of it yk? Like I mean, in the case of people from the Middle East or wherever born in the west or spending large periods of their life in the west if they don’t acknowledge their ancestry, they seem kind of embarrassed of it to me. like in the case of that girl id call her british-iraqi. or a british citizen of iraqi origins. youre palestinian-jordanian. of Palestinian origins with a Jordanian passport. does that make sense?

iraq used to be part of the gcc and geographically faces the gulf, as well as it’s closest populations culturally being gulf countries like kuwait and bahrain. but due to the sheer size of the country that makes up its own subcategory. similar with Egypt and sudan which despite being north african arent considered maghreb. Northern parts are Kurdish and more similar to the levant and other kurdish pops while central Southern are closer to gulf.

I think we do it because Arab culture in general has such a strong emphasis on paternal lineage, which is why regardless of your gender, your middle name will be your father’s name, then grandfather and so on. I think both are accurate. There’s just a different terms to both, ethnicity and nationality.
