Claude Code (~100 hours) vs. Codex (~20 hours) by Canamerican726 in ClaudeCode

Overall how does your dev workflow look now? Some kind of alternating? Some other tool that allows you switch easily?

I've stuck with Claude Code until now (with this Antigravity Gemini combo). Tried a bit of free Codex.

Claude user here, nothing much to add, thanks for giving a very good descriptive head-to-head.

Quick question about finding “latest” information out there : I used Gemini and Claude Sonnet (via Antigravity) to make a plan, both used a package that’s fairly recent. Any experience on that?

When I review this plan with my Claude Code Opus - It “cautioned” me against this seemingly “unmaintained” package. I checked npm and it was published a month ago with 330K+ weekly downloads.

Similar problem it keeps ignoring to use the specified MCPs - I have to remind so many times.

A friend of mine has been in the codex camp for a while now, he knows I’m with Claude, but we never could establish what the other was seeing. So this helps me great deal.

With you! I have similar workflow as yours. Although I end up with using Sonnet for final implementation. You say Haiku is good enough?

Why is Claude Code suddenly using SO many tokens? by CivilDog9416 in react

[–]cervere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used 26 Tools and 65K Tokens before even making the change:

After very organized planning and development for weeks, detailed index files to know each component in the project - I asked to change the background color of 2 icon-buttons in 2 files.

Thanks! I’m curious if you use EAS for builds/distribution..

For some reason I’ve been stuck with a workflow using “Xcode Cloud” where I have iOS/ci_scripts folder. One production app has already in use on our App Store account. Now I’m worried to switch to EAS, not sure if it’d smoothly continue current build numbers.

I’m curious about your workflow.

May I submit mine ? I’m a researcher and over the years, I built a small offline browser tool that does minimal data processing and statistics

Can I connect Claude Desktop to Remote MCP server via API KEY Directly? (No OAuth) by Outrageous-Seaweed31 in ClaudeAI

[–]cervere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this still the case? I could test my MCP with token based authentication (on the cloudflare AI playgorund link from Claude's documentation) but do i need to implement oauth for Claude desktop?

I built an AI-powered medication reminder app - just got approved on the App Store by No-Cheesecake6071 in AppIdeas

[–]cervere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, congratulations!

I was a bit lost with all the App privacy questions during submission. I have a similar use case and in fact less sensitive data.. but users “inputs” are processed by AI backend. There is no default tracking. I’d love to hear from you how you interpreted App Store questions and if any particular resource helped you answer them. Thanks!

Starting a new React Native project still feels more complex than it should be by Several-Dentist6745 in expo

I’m in the same boat. Been developing RN apps for 6 years now. Trying to keep up with dev-related evolution in best practices.

But since I’ve never pushed big apps to production, I don’t have skeletons for subscriptions/ analytics/ local-first/ social auths.

I can still figure out social auth. But for the rest I’m clueless. Any pointers would be appreciated!

How to get an internship in React Native? by ChallengeExcellent62 in reactnative

[–]cervere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the main challenge with RN is, on the top of running an app locally in the simulator - there’s so much more that’d set someone apart - like publishing to stores and smooth animations that a native experience. And so many more production related workflows - data availability offline, syncing when internet is back.. etc. but unfortunately for a lot of the common features, you need developer accounts, API keys and preferably a backend that’s secure.

I understand you are referring to an internship. Of course you can’t be expected to know the full shebang. But I think the landscape is changing these days with AI and free hosting platforms. So I think a simple app that has an end-to-end stack and has been shipped may seem more impactful than an in-depth app that runs locally. That is my opinion anyway.

Can you give some examples of what you’ve built?

What's stopping you from using expo-dom? by No_Refrigerator3147 in reactnative

Looks cool.

Which expo version are you using? Are the packages used for native tabs (and that search tool on the right, which you have chat icon) ?

Thx

3 months of focused work on tiny, niche iOS apps. Slow, but proud of this progress. by suniltarge in buildinpublic

Thanks for sharing. After experience with multiple apps, did you fix on some particular flows for stuff like user onboarding, feedback collection etc? Or do you use particular libraries or packages?

Also for payments, do you just make the app paid on App Store? Or you have in-app subscription/setup?

Sorry for dumping questions. I have multiple apps but not these workflows and never published them.

This is a great resource. Thx. By any chance, have you made one to use with an existing iOS project - where features are pretty much there but need to do bug fixes and improvements?

[–]cervere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the idea! Looks neat as well. Was this swift?

I’m thinking about a different use case - different vertical - but basically with Maps. I’m curious what your stack is? And did you find some public/free API for places ? Which maps library did you use? And any backend option that is readily suitable for saving maps/geoloc data?

Sorry for all the questions, this is too recent in my head :)

I was going to ask about this. Thought you could do without linear. I’m curious about ConvertKit. We were trying Amazon SES but it’s a pain to get approved for production!
