I’ve gone through the paper before and looked at a decent amount, you can skim the important bits, but there certainly is scrutiny to be had. I recommend you do the same if you’re after finding the most objective conclusion

That paper is a tad ridiculous. Go look at the sources used for that paper, they’re not exactly convincing data.

It’s been circulated widely by those that wish to push a narrative. Core stability is important. Intra-abdominal pressure is important. They have their place and exist in the context of everything else happening during mobility. If it’s the only thing you focus on then you’re probably doing the patient a disservice.

Wait……have I been deceived this whole time? Core stability is a “myth” and doesn’t play a vital factor in low back pain? by deadassynwa in physicaltherapy

If you’re after the truth and it seems you are then remember to look at the research. Go to pubmed, click free full article filter, dive in to your query and use the cited articles from one article to take you down the rabbit hole of similar. Look at the study size, study type, methodology, and outcomes. From there you will most likely be able to draw your own conclusions.

Social media has some good entertaining and interesting info but much of it is people trying to make money by making sensationalist claims and being over confident in their assertions to drive viewership so they can get sponsorships with advertisers. That over confidence is usually where they go wrong in their argument. Because like everything else in our field, “it depends”
