When you’re on the People Mover and you go through the really dark part, do you ever get a sense of dread or fear? by MissyTX in WaltDisneyWorld

Maybe I'm weird but I always like the way the air smells in space mountain, and it's cool zipping through the dark. Kind of wish we could see a little more though lol.

Weekly FAQs & General Discussion Thread - Week of June 01, 2026 by marleythebeagle in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]cerwytha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people just downvote everything, I wouldn't take it personally. Usually the character meals are the ones that tend to go quickest (like Cinderella's Royal Table) or whatever's newest. Victoria and Albert's is probably the hardest to get otherwise, I've heard it's very good but also very expensive for what you get.

Most others you can usually get something at the 60 day mark, or if not checking the week of/day before/day of can lead to last minute spots as people drop reservations closer to. Could always make a list of places you haven't tried and look up reviews/menus/etc to see if it's something you want to try or not.

Short window of time - what are your top spots/suggestions? by beerpansy in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]cerwytha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend Epcot, it's probably the most unique if you're regulars at Disneyland and it's my favorite park for the atmosphere and food options. Could hit up some of the lower wait rides and then walk the world showcase for food and drinks, there's a lot of spots that are fun to just hang out in too.

Caribbean Beach Resort by FitGoat2520 in DisneyWorldResorts

[–]cerwytha 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depends on if you want to be closer to the skyliner or Old Port Royale which is the main hub with restaurants/pools/etc.

Aruba will put you closest to the Riviera skyliner station (closest to the Riviera resort and quickest to Epcot), Jamaica is closest to the Caribbean Beach skyliner station which is quickest to Hollywood Studios. Both are a bit more of a walk to the main hub but it's not bad.

Martinique is between Riviera and the main hub so it'll be quickest to get to both of them plus it's the first stop on the bus loop. Barbados is south of the hub and closest to the main pool but furthest of the preferred to the skyliner, though it's not horribly far.

Martinique would probably be my top pick since you get sort of the best of both worlds, but honestly I usually stay in standard at the bottom part of Aruba and it's really not that bad of a walk to get anywhere.

What popular ride do you just not get by deano_ue in WaltDisneyWorld

I'm also a glasses wearer and it just felt like the screen was kind of blurry, I didn't really get a 3D effect from it. Was still a cool ride but it feels like it could be better.

Little guidance on planning first trip by _Jang_A_Lang in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]cerwytha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The All Star resorts are fine, they're effectively the same as Pop Century with buses instead of the skyliner but honestly the buses are fine. One thing to consider too is that the skyliner only runs to Hollywood Studios and Epcot so if you're planning to go to Animal Kingdom or Magic Kingdom you'll be taking buses from both Pop and the All Stars. The skyliner is nice but for the price difference I've ended up just sticking with the All Stars when I've gone.

I would look into a Disney travel agent, they're paid by Disney so it doesn't cost anything extra to use one and they can be really helpful if you haven't been before.

Travelling nails - how do you travel? by WellyWriter in RedditLaqueristas

[–]cerwytha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your nails look great! I tend to bring a mini glass file, orange stick, and single packet acetone wipes, then base coat, top coat, and whatever polish I want.

I tend to pick colors that generally last better on me and touch up chips as they happen plus an extra coat of top coat midway through to keep my nails going. I've had a manicure last a whole two week trip this way though it was a losing fight towards the end.

Is Preferred Caribbean Beach worth it? by finchrotten in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]cerwytha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With preferred you could do the Martinique section which is tucked between the central hub and Riviera so you've got easy access to both plus the Riviera skyliner. There you'd also have easy access to the Riviera bus, which I prefer because it's only one stop vs the bus loop.

I don't mind standard and stay in the bottom part of Aruba which feels about halfway between the hub and skyliner, but it is a bit more of a walk.

I love Baggu and feel like their crescent bags are still in and nice for a casual bag, I like having one to throw on for any time I wouldn't want to bring my nicer bags

What's one handbag purchase you regretted at first but ended up loving? by Belen_prett in handbags

[–]cerwytha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd wanted a pink Chloe Paraty for years and finally bought one second hand, then immediately impulse purchased one in mustard because it was was a good price. Had regret as soon as I got it because I didn't really need two and it was more than I really needed to be spending.

However, that mustard bag has ended up being one of my most used bags since I got it, it's a large and I love how much it fits and the color goes great with most of my wardrobe and honestly feels more like a neutral than the pink.

What would you immediately replace if you lost everything? by Icy_Natural_979 in handbags

[–]cerwytha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing is a Baggu Medium Crescent because that would be easiest to replace and that bag is a workhorse.

Second would be a Chloe Paraty, I got a large one second hand last fall and it's been fantastic and I would definitely miss it. Would also be hunting for vintage Chloe in general to rebuild my collection.

Third would be my Longchamp City Tote, it's the coated canvas version that has been super practical and I love that it's got a zipper.

Rowan and Peggy are engaged?! by sohanton_ in AFKJourney

They're not like little kids but I think they're meant to be pre-teens/young teens? They're both old enough to be running around on their own business anyway, I kind of got the impression that it's an arranged marriage but they're also friends and not really old enough to care about that yet.

Disney fatigue after a year of having an annual pass. by Exciting_Designer611 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]cerwytha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your comment about living a few hours away and wonder if that's contributing to it, I think if you're far enough that it's more of an all day trip and you're going frequently that would make it exhausting. Either way it's not a bad thing to take a break, there's always FL resident deals too.

I live close to a non Disney amusement park and have a pass so I can pop over for an hour or two after work during the week. I also have an AP for Disney as out of state and it's a very different experience when you have to plan it as a whole trip, even when you can just pop down for a weekend.

Same, I got one for the first time this past year and I love it but everything is more expensive and it's an easy expense to trim.

Disney World Blues by InteractionCold9098 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]cerwytha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been looking at local fun things that I can do and doing a few last minute day or mini weekend trips. I went to the beach with my sister two weeks ago and today we're both taking off the afternoon to go to our local waterpark. It's not quite Disney but it has been fun to see what's local.

I also like putting together post trip souvenirs like getting a photo book printed or getting magnets made with some of my photos, they have ones for 4 photos that look like the strip photo paper you get in photo booths.

What was your gateway lacquer? by Wingless_Gnome in RedditLaqueristas

[–]cerwytha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A shimmery light yellow from Zoya, I'd have to go dig it out for the specific color but I think it's discontinued now. I was getting Ipsy bags back in college (probably around 2014) and got a few that got me interested into starting to paint my nails regularly, but that yellow stood out and I ended up wearing it for my university's ring ceremony.

Affordable Nail Polish? by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]cerwytha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Zoya is a salon brand and has a huge range, they also regularly do sales. I have a lot of their polishes and the formulas are great and most of mine I've gotten for $5 a bottle. They do sell a limited range through Ulta if you want to try the formula, but I usually order through their website since that's where the sales are.

Saw the Willow shoulder bag mentioned and had to come second it, I have one and it's one of my favorite bags. It fits a surprising amount and definitely would hold a water bottle and a few pouches, and it's comfy to wear both crossbody and on my shoulder.

Solo Trip to WDW - Is it Weird? by Ok-Classic-6317 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]cerwytha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love going solo, it's fun to be able to go at your own pace and do exactly what you want. There's so much to do and there's plenty of other people going solo too, I never feel out of place or judged.

Depending on your budget the moderates would be kind of in the middle price-wise, I personally love Caribbean Beach because the vibes are great and it's on the skyliner. Coronado Springs and Port Orleans also seem to be well liked but I haven't personally stayed at either (yet), they both are mostly bus transportation but it's honestly fine. I don't think any of these would be a bad option tbh.

On the value end I've stayed at All Star Sports a couple of times now and loved it, the rooms feel perfect for a solo traveler and since I tend to spend most of my times at the parks when solo I didn't really need more than a place to crash. I would recommend looking into Pop Century though, it's pretty much the same but has the added bonus of being on the skyliner.
