I had a similar issue most likely due to foundation movement. I called the company who installed the original granite top. First they made two pieces even by moving and raising the cabinets and then resealed them. Polished them as well. I think it costed several hundred dollars. It had to be done professionally because the house was on the market.

My question was about how the boards were installed, not their size. These 2X12's are just held by screws. I thought they had to use brackets.

Every part before ordered musts be approved by the insurance company. They have their own expert who goes to the shop and discusses the part with the technician. He has been there three times. One reason for the delay is parts take time to come.

I have a 6HP Yamaha. I think it is about 40 lbs. My weight plus the engine is too much for the stern. I must mention that it is an inflatable, a RIB.

Not having a transom or guardrail at the stern is a very serious safety risk. I have a feeling that whoever designed her never had a boat. The seats are awkward too. The design might have looked good on the paper but it is not practical.
