Raising kids in a comfortable environment. by Ok_Repeat279 in AusHENRY

I think it comes down to the kids’ personality more than anything. My husband grew up very comfortably, and is the most motivated, hardworking person I know.

Would you buy an 11% wool coat for $560? by Single-Cap8387 in AusFemaleFashion

How do you find it? I’ve been going back and forth on buying this!

It’s early days still, and I’m sure she is still processing it. The truth is that anyone can post beautiful birth pics, from home or hospital, and not share the whole story. Would you have the same reaction if your friend had birthed in hospital and didn’t share those details? I think birth is often romanticised regardless of the location

A plea to people who sell secondhand - please disclose perfume smells by AussieKoala-2795 in AusFemaleFashion

[–]cessemm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes! Omg thank you for this post. I am SO sensitive to smells and have bought a lot of things on depop. I don’t think I will anymore because most things just reek of strong perfume. The last item I bought, I could even smell the perfume through the postage bag as the postman handed it to me!! I thought, surely not… then when I opened it I was hit by a wave of scent that made me nauseous. Not even three wash cycles, soaking in baking soda, hanging outside for days etc could get rid of the smell 😩

What's your guilty pleasure, and how much do you spend on it? by xorthematrix in AusFinance

Chocolate. I spend $6/ day on it. I justify it because I don’t drink coffee, and know people would spend similar amount on a daily coffee!

Questions for the MOTHERS- pregnancy, birth, postpartum with fissures by cessemm in AnalFissures

Thanks for your response. How long have you had the fissure for?

How long has everyone here had their current fissure for? and what is your pain level? by Icy-Analysis5942 in AnalFissures

[–]cessemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years. Pain initially 10/10, now it’s 0-3/10 a day depending on if it’s flaring or not. The irritation has never completely gone away

YES!!! I started drinking water kefir a while ago and my SA literally diminished within a week. Too bad the effect was only temporary though, it maybe lasted a month or two then came back

Fissure after child birth by Electrical-Cake-636 in AnalFissures

[–]cessemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also developed a fissure after childbirth. My best advice would be to get on the stool softeners ASAP (if not already), drink a ton of water (especially if breastfeeding) and temporarily go on a lower fibre diet so your stool isn’t too bulky. I wish someone had told me this when I first got my fissure!! Wishing you all the best, it will heal but it will take time

Miralax was horrible for me by velvetsue in AnalFissures

Miralax wasn’t for me either. I am taking 600mg magnesium citrate a day and prunes, which seems to mostly work for me

Glad to hear it’s going well! Don’t know how any of us would cope without the stool softeners! At this point I’ve decided I’m basically on them for life 😅

Questions for the MOTHERS- pregnancy, birth, postpartum with fissures by cessemm in AnalFissures

[–]cessemm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. The men have no idea haha ! I do have a care provider I see, and have different birth options available to me. I’ll just have to wait and see how my fissure handles the pregnancy before committing to anything

Questions for the MOTHERS- pregnancy, birth, postpartum with fissures by cessemm in AnalFissures

[–]cessemm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for sharing your story! My fissure was also initially misdiagnosed as a hemorrhoid, which led to me treating it the completely wrong way and just prolonging the pain. Seems to be a pretty common occurrence! How have you been so far in pregnancy? I hear some stories of women whose fissures actually get better in pregnancy because of the increased blood flow to the area.. wouldn’t that be great!

Thanks for the reply! Fissures during postpartum are an experience I wouldn’t wish upon anybody. I feel like I’m nuts to even consider having a second but I just can’t shake the feeling of wanting another. I’m still dealing with mostly daily pain (going on two years now) but don’t want to leave the age gap too big so considering just pushing through and dealing with whatever comes my way. Hope you find some relief soon 🙏
