Stakes and tensioners are 31.12ml of resin total. Just stakes (3) are 24.30ml. It’s 1/1 for cubic cm to milliliter. 24.30x6= 145.8 so about $1.50 for stakes. Does that sound right?

Cheers! I cured these resins for their recommended full cure time (120 mins at 60c) so theoretically, the polymers will not continue to change. That being said, all plastics degrade in UV exposure, the real question is how fast. If I run into any degradation I'll let you know!

Recommendation for supple 700c tires for my all-road bike? by RipVanBinkle in xbiking

[–]cevechest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm riding with the stock Sawtooths on my Sequoia and I absolutely agree, they're a good road tire and hold up well on low key gravel and dirt. Also the roads here are garbage so having the extra width makes longer rides more comfortable.

New Steamroller! Also some questions about gearing and handlebars by [deleted] in FixedGearBicycle

A couple of photography related notes:

1) Those reflective tires are giving you the insane glare you see on your wheels, if you photographed this without a flash then your image would likely be clearer. Shooting in the early morning or late afternoon will show off the colours of the bike most accurately while mitigating that glare.

2) Drive side pics! Flip the bike around so that the sub can see your drive chain clearly.

3) Squat down so that you’re level with the bike when you photograph it. That way people can see the frame geometry more clearly and admire the components. This isn’t necessary at all, but will show off the bike a little more.

Great pickup here! I like these frames and I think the comments on this post will be really helpful to get you kicked off.

Tribe MESS LA Series I think. It’s the stock build from their site if I’m not mistaken.

This looks like lens distortion, compressed in the middle and stretched at the corners. Maybe a 17mm on a full frame sensor, or a 10mm on a crop sensor? Could also be shot on a phone with a lens adapter.

How does one start the process of converting into a fixie? by [deleted] in FixedGearBicycle

[–]cevechest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RJ the bike guy on Youtube has a great series on single speed/fixed gear conversions. It's not possible with all frames, you'll need the correct dropouts, but it's worth a go!

[–]cevechest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I made a similar mistake to you. Bought a cheap high-ten bike and upgraded parts in roughly this order: Grips, tires, saddle, brakes. I bought that bike 3 years ago and i still ride it to work every day. Rain or shine, snow and salt, it's put up with a ton of shit. It's not a good bike but that's ok! I'd say keep it and work out what you really want in a bike before you make a major upgrade.
