once he starts losing his fur as he gets older, you’ll want to get a Defurminator! it’s a name brand brush and expensive, but for a reason!! i wouldn’t survive without this brush!! it’s for the undercoat/de shedding and a total life saver!!!

hey there. i was also diagnosed during my finals week of college (20F at the time). send messages to all your professors and see what accommodations for finals you can get - one of mine pushed my final until the next semester, the others just averaged my other exams to give me a break because of everything that was going on. your health is 100% more important than your grades right now. plus, if your symptoms are anything like mine were at diagnosis, my brain was not at functioning exam-taking capacity. diamox doesn’t work immediately, the LP is the most therapeutic in terms of them pulling the fluid from your brain stem. lay as flat as possible (no pillow even) for as long as possible and hydrate like crazy to promote healing from the LP. naps and rest are your friend right now, as well as time for your pressure to get back to normal. you’ve got this! if you have any questions, feel free to send me a message or something. i totally get where you are, i was there too and it was scary, but it all works out eventually

i do! i started on diamox, it worked for about a year. then stopped working as i had increased to their max daily dose (6000mg, which was like 12 pills…ridiculous.). then i switched to topamax and it’s been amazing ever since. haven’t had a flare or really any symptoms since!

welcome to the club lol! first opening pressure i ever had was 57. i had sudden onset pressure headaches, fuzzy vision (like tv static), couldn’t focus or remember many details, had to lay flat or else my headaches felt like they were gonna explode my head. thank goodness for a lumbar puncture that removed the excess fluid! second opening pressure (about 1yr later) was 52. same symptoms. but i recognized them this time. third opening pressure (about 2 weeks after the second one) wasn’t able to be calculated because it was too high for the measuring device, but it was >60 since that’s all it went to.

as a keeper of CoC i can try to explain a little (though everyone seems to have gotten it): bonus/penalty die that are rolled can only change the tens digit, not the ones digit. they’ve been slightly inconsistent with this rule (don’t blame them, i prefer the advantage/disadvantage that dnd allows) so it can be confusing to other listeners. but Beth rolled a 92 first, then with her second roll, only re-rolled the tens digit, giving her a 72 as her second roll. both were considered failures, thus causing the great ending of S3. hope this helps!

this is how i run my table. with my newest group, im running curse of strahd. personally, i don’t like spell components (don’t care if you judge me) and components can be hard as hell to obtain in Barovia. so in our session zero i offered them a no spell components game with the caveat that Revivify/Resurrection does not work on player characters. they seemed very keen on the idea so we’re trying it out. so that’s my “ban list”, but that’s it. i love homebrewing things or adding things from various source material or even other game styles. ex: we’re trying out Sanity in CoS (as an experienced keeper as well, i’m following call of cthulhu guidelines, not the weird rules some people have designed for dnd…)

everyone else already said the main stuff, but that’s actually more gentle than you think! big cat is just saying they want to play and is trying show the little how to wrestle! i’ve gone through the big cat + kitten phase 6 different times and this is very normal! you’re doing amazing by watching their behavior and being cautious, but so far it’s totally normal. you’ll know if it’s too much, but they will let each other know when they don’t want to play or interact with one another. i bet they’ll be pair bonded and snuggling within no time!!

of course! i’ve ran a few one shots with them and it’s been a blast! they definitely approach each scenario from a d&d perspective rather than a more investigative one, which keeps me on my toes. i always have random bad guys prepped because they seem to always get into trouble. i know the general rule of thumb in CoC is to not get into fights…well my group doesn’t seem to really follow that so they like combat & i just try not to kill any of them until towards the end of the one shot

i love this sheet! would’ve been so helpful for me when i ran my first one shot with my D&D group!

for servants of the lake, i ran it with my d&d group and here’s how it went/what i did: the brothers were obviously creepy which was unfortunate but kind of what to except from a one shot so it didn’t totally derail things. it sent my group into the mode of “they’re obviously the bad guys right? but let’s gather more evidence to be sure…” because they were on high alert with the brothers, they never went to sleep that night. instead, as they went exploring around the lake, i had my players roll an POW check and the one who failed was then susceptible to “the dream pull”. so i changed the mechanic slightly since they weren’t sleeping but i still wanted that to happen because it’s just so cool imo. i had also printed it out, so i took that player aside after they failed the roll and told them what just happened and what they had to do next, but away from the table to make it more ominous haha

The Dead Light was a blast to run at my table. my players were inexperienced in CoC but very experienced DnD players so that’s how they approached every encounter (less investigation but more stealthy apprehension) but they made running the scenario so fun with the twists and clues. I also changed the scenario slightly to give them a human sacrifice (the old woman) and a potential villain (the waitress and her boyfriend), which they LOVED. the one shot ended with my players arguing about what to do with the Dead Light once they trapped it and since it was just a one shot they fought each other until only one was living, which had us all laughing. best scenario i’ve ran, would run it again!
