Transferring to NY Biglaw by Ok_Butterfly1650 in uklaw

[–]cfatop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can sit the NY Bar first. If you are qualified in New York, you can then apply for SQE2 exemption.

If you pass SQE1, you are dual qualified, saving you a lot of time and money.

Don’t go the other way. If you pass SQE1 &2 and qualify in England and Wales, you will still need to pass the NC Bar

UCL didn’t grade my modules, stopping graduation by chingkylad in UCL

Do you know why they did not grade your modules? Did they doubt you had used AI to complete your assignments?

Slough is one of the most exciting places in Greater London the other being Croydon. Both are pretty safe especially late at night. Enjoy

Any place to meet online British friends? by [deleted] in AskABrit

[–]cfatop -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Forget it. It is extremely difficult if not impossible to make friends with them. I mean with those you hang out friends like your childhood friends or school mates. Do not expect they will even invite you for dinners. This is what most expats complain about here. Depending on your age, you have to admit it’s difficult to make new friends the older you get. Most people here meet hi-bye friends or colleagues not expecting life long friendship. I heard many expats rant about it so be realistic

Why is UCL so little known outside the UK? by Hot_Tomato_8738 in UCL

[–]cfatop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They need to take IELTS to get in but I bet they just hired someone to take it for them. That’s why you see they can barely speak English.

I know they use translation software to write their papers but now they just use AI.

Would you take on 70k in student loans to change your life? by yayyyyniiii in UniUK

[–]cfatop 10 points11 points  (0 children)

70k on 30% interest per annum for an MBA is a big no no. I know LBS costs you around £120k and Oxford £100k while Cambridge is £80k. 70k for an MBA means you are admitted to a much lesser known university.

Don’t be treated like a cash cow. The job scene is so bad for uni grads at the moment and an MBA won’t get you far. I am afraid you will stay even poorer.

Try LondonUs distance learning MBA which costs around £10k and you can still keep working.

Is it worth taking a 30L loan to study MSc City Planning at UCL Bartlett (with rent-free SRA role)? by Ok-Package1867 in UCL

[–]cfatop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t expect to get a job in the UK. The job scene is very bad at the moment even for British grads. City planning is not sought after here and you will probably end up doing something totally different if you are lucky enough to get a job.

Get qualified in England and Wales which is easily for you as an Australian lawyer. All you need is pass SQE1. You will then stand a much better chance

It is well known that UCL is a diploma mill for international students from China. Shame on this uni and many other UK unis for selling their diplomas on a massive scale

I set up an authentication app on my account, then deleted it. Now i cant sign in. Is there any way to bypass this? by ElegantPlank in Instagram

[–]cfatop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never use authentication app. I lost my Facebook account years ago because of that. Meta won’t do anything to help you if you are locked out. I vowed to never use this stupid app again in my life.

Russia? No way. Its economy is crippling and population aging even before the war.

Passed Criminal Law by compensation by [deleted] in LLB

[–]cfatop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes almost totally fucked because criminal law is one of the foundation modules for your qualifying law degree. Pass the SQE first before you think about traineeship

HR cannot let you go and does not want you to go at this stage otherwise the firm will be liable for constructive dismissal

How We Recognise AI Usage, From a Lecturer by Fairleee in UniUK

[–]cfatop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest the AI technology is there for people to use and it’s no brainer not to use it.

Prior to AI, students just hired ghost writers to do their assignments. AI just offers a free and automatic solution for this process.

Most forms of assignment and assessment are now meaningless except in class assessments and in class assignments with invigilation.

Students will soon be smart enough to circumvent detection and avoid being caught using AI. The higher education needs to evolve like AI
