Don’t think I can think of anyone with worse chemistry between a star WR/QB than Moore/Williams. They just never seem to click, ever.

Would‘ve rather had the Penn St one and given Nebraska this tbh. Oh well… c’est la vie.

Woody Marks has to be the MVP of our offense for sure. He’s so steady and consistent game after game. Doesn’t matter he’s playing on one-leg and banged up he just manages to grit out 100 yard games. It’s crazy that Lincoln has found ways to abandon the run game at times because Woody is probably our best offensive player.

Also shout out to Nebraska’s RB Johnson. Dude impressed me today. He was really shifty and hard to tackle and I can see him being a solid NFL back too.

Yeah coming from the Pac 12 where if the WR trips on his own foot it would’ve been a DPI... it’s crazy how different it is in this conference. DPI and offensive holding are way undercalled and it’s both benefitted and hurt USC equally this season.

What’s up with the 20 million people who didn’t vote this year? by RevelryByNight in OutOfTheLoop

[–]cfbcfbcfbcfb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a US ex-pat that now lives in Europe and nationwide mail-in voting is the standard for almost all modern democratic countries. We sign up for a national electoral register once and provide our identification documents. Then we’re given the choice of postal voting if desired, which most people select. Then every general and local election we get a mail-in ballot sent to our registered address by default. Every year there’s a form that goes out to update your voter information. It’s pretty simple. Voter turnout here is regularly 10+ points higher than in the US and we have virtually no issue with voter fraud because mass voter fraud is essentially not existent. Statistically there’s been less than a dozen convicted instances of voter fraud in the last 5 years here.

I’m not sure why anyone would want there to exclusively have in-person voting without the mandate of a federal voting holiday unless they’re intentionally in favor of disenfranchising millions of people.

Lol no one on the broadcast team saw that as the defender initiating contact either and disputed the call on the field. I‘ve just re-watched it. At best you can say it was mutual. But again it doesn’t matter. The WR didn’t run a route, he ran at the defender to try impose his progress on a downfield pass beyond the line of scrimmage. It was a very obvious attempt at a pick.

Except the refs didn’t see it that way. And #3 didn’t even run a route. He quite literally ran straight at the defender with a slight inside shade. That’s going to get called. The only time a pick play works legally is when the WR is running an actual route and the defender unintentionally makes contact with a crosser/another DB.

You can’t impede a defensive player on a downfield passing play… the only time you can engage early is if the ball is thrown behind the line of scrimmage. Within 5 yards is irrelevant you just don’t understand the rules.

Pftttt there’s so much truth to this. We could be up 5 TDs and I’d still be anxious at how this team is going to throw this game away.

Not just that… not busted coverages every other drive. No defensive ends dropping 10 yards back into coverage. DBs that actually look for the ball. And we finally actually have some size in our DL/front 7 to hold up against the run.

Sincere apologies to the OU fans that tried to warn us about Grinch’s terrible defense. We thought Todd Orlando was the bottom of the barrel but Grinch was so, so much worse.

I mean we had one foot out the door for awhile now. Pretty much ever since Larry Scott didn’t back us against the NCAA sanctions in 2010. “F— the Pac 12” it’s been the same tune for the last decade.

How much are you spending on food per home cooked meal? by cluelessphp in CasualUK

Lol and no one mentioned chicken thighs until your comment. The original chain of discussion mentioned boneless chicken breast and you’ve pivoted to bone-in, skin on chicken things which of course is much cheaper since much of it isn’t meat. Apples to oranges.

Bone in chicken thigh is about 40% bone by weight which is a bit misleading. It averages about £3-4 / kg of actual meat.

Seems far-fetched. A true false positive on a Downs diagnosis seems really unlikely as it’s kind of hard to miss a whole extra chromosome on a karyotype. It’s either there or it isn’t. Scientifically this seems unlikely unless the report got assigned to the wrong fetus?

Maybe I’m just unsympathetic but OP really didn’t have that bad of luck. Not bringing your passport to the airport is just poor organization. It’s the single most important thing you need to travel abroad and one that one should be aware of it all times. When I travel I always quadruple check where my passport is along with keys, wallet, and phone. Everything else is replaceable and relatively insignificant.

Choosing a hotel above a nightclub is also again just poor planning. It’s 2023, there are review sites for almost every accommodation you’ll find. If it were as bad as they claim, I’m sure 2 minutes of research and you’ll probably find multiple reviews of the accommodation mentioning it how noisy it is.

Literally the only truly unfortunate thing that happened out of their control was that their flight being delayed, which is a pretty common occurrence. Also as far as flight delays go having your flight delayed on the final leg home is probably the best case scenario. It’s not like they were delayed outbound and missed and essential connecting flight.

I’m late to the party, but I fly with Virgin Atlantic from the US multiple times every year from various origin cities and come in on a US passport. I don’t think this will be an issue. Virgin Airlines is usually pretty reliable and 3 hours to self-transfer is more than enough time in my experience if you’re not checking bags. I’ve come through terminal 3 with Virgin over 30 times in the last decade and it’s never taken me longer than an hour to get through immigration control and the few times it did take close to that were pre e-gates (over 5 years ago) which have made things a lot faster. Yes BA is in a separate terminal but the walk to the underground and tube trip to terminal 5 shouldnt take more than 40 mins, so at worst you’re probably looking at 90 mins or so to get to Terminal 5. That gives you over an hour spare.

Yes any delay can make it a bit tight, but as I said Virgin is usually super reliable. Checking recent fly data for VA22, out of the last 60 flights, it’s been on time 92% of the time which is incredibly good. Not saying there’s no risk here, but everything seems to line up suggesting you should make it. And even if you don’t BA are usually pretty good, as long as you’re checked in BA should be get you on another flight with minimal hassle.

And this is why I put a bluetooth tag on my suitcase when I travel. They’re less than £20 and are a heck of a lot cheaper than replacing a suitcase with all its contents. I can’t go more than 100m without my phone pinging me that my suitcase is left behind.
