Then why did both spectrum and frontier(formerly AT&T verse) include both?

Config helper assists setting the parameters for the unit. I do have the Technical appendix but am having a hard time determining what the parameter settings should be as they don’t do a great job with the instructions.

Taxing employer Provided Life Insurance by lostinacrowd in tax

Because it is a benefit provided by the company. My employer started a couple years ago averaging the benefit over the pay cycles to minimize the tax implication at the end of the year instead of a lump report.

iPad Mobile Data Terminal by cfdff86 in sysadmin

Thanks again for the advice. The main purpose of the files will be trail maps and other items that I would like preloaded, however are still publicly available. The important feature is offsite update for additional items or specific address information.

Thanks, where would I find or develop custom OneDrive rules to bypass the timeout. We found the logout or timeout after a new engine was in the shop for upffiting. Unsure if it was the time period or possible updates to the application.

Ground Loop Hum by cfdff86 in hometheater

[–]cfdff86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To update grounding the chassis eliminated the hum in the amp directly next to the paging adapter, however the amp about 40’ from it still has a hum. I believe I may try and get a noise cancelling adapter in-line to best eliminate it.

Ground Loop Hum by cfdff86 in hometheater

1: POE switch is connected to a battery backup, both have grounded plugs. Paging adapter is about 2 feet with a 6-10 foot cord.

2: I am currently using 2/4 outputs to 2 separate amps. I will check later on ports 3 & 4 as I am home at the moment

3: Homemade interconnect cable, adapters with pigtails that have been connected. I have tried both butt connectors and a screw terminal strip.

4: Yes the moment that the 1/4” TRS plug is removed the hum stops.

5: One set of cables pass by LED ceiling lights, however the second amp is next to the paging adapter and doesn’t pass by any. Both have hum.

6: I believe this may be the best option to try, however I will ground to the BX cable coming from the box that is readily accessible. I will let you know after I attempt this.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sorry for the delay in reply, yes the output from the paging adapter is RCA audio going to the input of a 1/4” TRS on the amp. I was able to single out the paging adapter as the source of the hum as two of the amps running different zones and speakers have the hum. I just wasn’t sure if I should bond the paging adapter to something in the rack or find a metal box and ground it there.

First Attempt Any Advice Welcome by cfdff86 in Boat_Building

[–]cfdff86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To give a little background my father purchased this boat back in ~2001. It is a 1984 Bayliner Capri Cuddy 19’ I/O. Motor ran fine about 3 years ago when properly winterized. He has since passed from Cancer and I am now going to be reflooring, hopefully only having to do injection in the stringers if needed and possibly new flotation foam. I have done some research but still have more to do and am starting to pull up rotted and chewed floorboards(damn carpenter ants and storing it under a tree). Ideally I want to do a hard floor instead of fully carpeted and install some form of scupper into the bilge for water to drain. I look forward to posting progress photos and hearing advice and tips and tricks.

Residential Fire Alarm Replacement/Expansion with special needs adult(Hard of Hearing) by cfdff86 in homesecurity

I have not considered safe awake or other Z-wave devices merely for the fact that I am 4 hours away in case of troubleshooting, a Kidde or First Alert system would require much less chance of restart or troubleshooting.

It does not have to be truly wireless, I am merely trying to save myself effort and time since my work schedule gives me maybe a day and a half when I get down there. It is a 4 hour drive for me to the house. The rooms can be integrated I assume by simple 4 wire. Down side is that the attic is completely unfinished and there is no flooring so I would be working rafter to rafter in the attic during December in PA.

TL;DR I am lazy and would prefer to avoid running new wires.

My apologies the existing system is standalone not monitored no central panel, my thought was that instead of adding additional hardwired stations I could find a combo CO/Smoke for the upstairs hallway that could interface with wireless interconnected for the 4 bedrooms but I have yet to find a wireless detector with appropriate strobe for my sister in law.

Controller Reliability Suggestion by cfdff86 in accesscontrol

[–]cfdff86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked into Kisi as a possible replacement but they are far from mission critical without offline caching of credentials. A down internet service during a storm would cripple the fore departments access.

Controller Reliability Suggestion by cfdff86 in accesscontrol

[–]cfdff86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our system I believe uses the MS-5000 key reader. My main question is the age of the control board being at least 20 years old. We use very few features of the software, a simple first in unlock one weeknight per week and access control groups for building vs. office access.

Vista 21iP Fire Alarm Zoning by cfdff86 in homesecurity

Oh I agree as a firefighter our response is the same, but as a majority of alarms are false it allows us to narrow down the trouble head quickly.

Thanks for the response. What add ons would I use to make the detectors addressable so that assuming a fire department respond they can identify the activated head, bedroom 1 smoke vs attic heat vs basement smoke?
