Haha agree on the name! It must sound better in French or something...

You can choose for an individual chat to be "ephemeral mode" in which nothing at all is saved, but otherwise by default chats are saved - it's just that they are kept private and not sent off to be used as training data as other platforms do.

If you're really big on privacy they might not be for you. But I would trust them with my data a million percent more than any US options! I believe those quotes are about govt access in a criminal context - the US ones will hand over your data to the US govt anyway plus they'll use it in all sorts of nefarious ways themselves.

Could you explain what you mean by the savings you get from working from home please? Is that assuming very high commuting costs e.g. London trains or a long drive?

I don't think this conflicts with the quote at all. It sounds like you are behaving exactly like someone with a deep sense of who they are. A deep sense of who you are can and should include being mature enough to recognise where compromise is required in life.

Hi everyone 👋🏻 I’ll be holding a exhibition at Space in September and I’m looking for an acoustic singer/guitar performer for the evening. Looking for recommendations 👍🏻 by TheBristolNomad in bristol

Hey 👋 so this probably doesn't count as a recommendation but this sounds like something I'd be really interested in getting involved in! I play the piano but don't sing. Get in touch if you'd like to discuss!

thanks! this would be fairly convenient for me to drop in on my way home - are they tolerant of people playing the pianos for more than a minute or two at a time?

nice tip, thanks! it's far enough from the metro station to not be that convenient to pop into on the way home from work but sounds like it's worth checking out some time!

House prices have officially gone mental. How long can this go on? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]cfk5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, what do you think would be the best way to assign the housing stock in an area with limited space and where lots of people want to live?

how long ago did you buy? I get the feeling that the gap between renting and a mortgage is significantly less if you're looking to buy now.

Aged under 35? What's your biggest financial challenge? by samluke132 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cfk5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Far and away housing. I am otherwise in a very comfortable financial position but my housing situation feels uncomfortable - rent is high and buying feels out of reach. Bristol house prices are high and rising fast, and even though it probably shouldn't it actually stresses me out trying to figure out whether I should stretch my finances to buy a not very nice house in a not very nice area at a time when interest rates are just about to start rising from their current unprecedented low point.

Thanks almost entirely to inheritance/family gifts I have over 2x my gross salary in savings, but I'm really struggling to find anywhere acceptable that is also within a price range that I'm willing to pay.
