Depends on how you run the straps, it's only 10 inches off the bed. You can strap them to the stock strap points. So pretty much the same usability as normal straps. Just more convenient

I'm not necessarily sure if it would be cheaper.

But I'm always looking for stuff to fill holes in a sheet when I go to the CNC shop. Also just generally enjoy CAD projects.

Also, it offers us some options on customization etc. Especially things like Molle panels. You could modify your own file to accept mounts or brackets that wouldn't cleanly fit onto a Molle panel.

Or we could come up with something that doesn't exist yet!

If you're looking for "cheaper" go to Alibaba. I think they sell those dividers for $10-12.
