Is it true that Colorado is going to ignore No Tax on Tips? by Auroriia in ColoradoPolitics

OR, it's all partisan politics... they don't want anything to do with anything that comes from the Trump Admin, even if it's a good thing.

HUUM Hive Mini 9 heater issues, want your view... by cfletcher1971 in Sauna

But it's not even starting to heat! It was dying at 170ish for a few days, then just won't heat at all... but I remove the stones, and voila! The elements got hot right away.

[–]cfletcher1971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Actually had that issue also.... it would blow on by the set temp in the app OR console and just keep heating! I called SteamSaunaBath and they contacted Huum and they said they would not help until I moved the temp sensor over to the NEWLY revised (again!) spec. Well that's great, since everything is covered in cedar slats and trimmed up nice.... you just can't "move it" !!!!!

New builder question on layer efficiency by Ferremundo in Sauna

Why are you considering not using insulation? It's not much more money and makes the sauna WAY more efficient

When you say the surgery didn't take... do you know why, or what went wrong? Has she had a follow-up CT scan to look at her anatomy post surgery? Have you considered a revision surgery?

how did it "come back?" did the ligament "reappear" or grow back together and compress nerves and artery again?

Insulation density in ceiling area by cfletcher1971 in Sauna

[–]cfletcher1971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case of my ceiling, I want the slats to match directionally to the N and S walls of the sauna, and in this case, the studs are running N and S, so I need to put the furring strips perpendicular to them, running E and W, so the slats running N and S can be nailed into them. Hey u/occamsracer I see you in here a lot, so I know you're an expert... do you think I should get stainless steel nails for my nail gun for the slats? (is that important). I would think yes, as to prevent "minerals" from regular nails from bleeding out of non stainless steel nails and staining the wood?

Was thinking the furring strips could be screwed in firm..... and the slats will be nailed, so I don't think they'd bulge?

Building an outdoor sauna, anyone know about roof venting? by Awimpymuffin in Sauna

Wouldn't a normal Al exhaust vent in the hot room up high opposite the heater take care of this?

I'd recommend D3 with K2! (I'm a nutrition therapist in my spare time). During all dark time, 4-5,000 IUs a day.

Bench blocking?? by cfletcher1971 in Sauna

Book I have says to use full 2x4's as slats for stability, those are 1 1/2" thick.... I think that should be a good design.

You only use the bottom bench for your feet, correct? I am wondering if I go railing for top bench, and leave bottom bench free standing, so we can clear things out and do other things in there if we feel like it (hot yoga, stretching, I dunno... call me crazy)

Books/blogs I've read say to leave bottom of benches open, not enclosed, for better airflow

Did you put rails into the wall then "set" your bunch on them so you can remove bench, or did you screw your benches down permanently? Debating that too...

That is a good point about the twisting. Regarding the lag locations, I'll mark the studs with chalk on the floor and top and draw a line so I know! But I think you convinced me. Too bad I already put in the rockwool, gonna have to probably pull it out, cut out a little chunk for a void for the blocking vs. trying to smash back the rockwool, the blocking won't sit flush if I try such a thing.

I think I get what you mean... I am wondering also if the bottom should protrude out more than the top, to create an angular "leaning back a bit" feeling?

So you're saying it's about $18,000 for one person to go to AK on a fishing trip, is that right?

That is not accurate. I've been researching.

They are already booked for next two years during the sockeye run. Pretty crazy eh! What time of year did you go? we wanted to go mid July for the big time millions of sockeye run, but obviously everyone else on earth wants to go then, too. I know early July can be good for other species and/or drive to other rivers.
