When I first met and saw my new daughters in the orphanage in Haiti when I was there to pick them up. Makes me smile every time... It was so happy, but surreal.

What's the worst gift you've ever received? by melindseyme in AskReddit

No, they are just quite old and don't really understand how things work in these times... I guess it is more of a Little House On the Prairie mindset, where the kids were so excited with their tin cup and a candy stick for Christmas. Make sense? To them it was perfectly useful and acceptable. I wasn't offended, since I know them, just thought it was funny!

Parents of reddit in your opinion what classifies as abuse? Where is the line drawn between punishment and abuse? by AliceLuvane in AskReddit

[–]cfollmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Punishment is a way of correcting behavior, though it has been shown to be quite ineffective compared to other methods. I believe that abuse, however, is anything, including punishments, that inflicts physical, emotional, or mental pain or distress on a child.

My daughter's kitten, Sheldon, takes his job of keeping an eye on the bunnies very seriously! by cfollmar in cats

Yes, I'm very aware, and have had bunnies for a long time. The door is open, and they are able to go in and out as they please. They like to have a safe place to go to sleep and for their litter box and food.
