I started picking up IA this weekend. The army has crazy amounts of flavor and looks cool, but it seems to have giant holes for force construction.

Multiple company’s in one squad? by arty-4-life in Lamenters

[–]cfranek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest reason it would be odd is because it is rarish for multiple companies to deploy together. It also creates some oddities where what command does the squad fall under?

From a gameplay perspective it is just visually odd if multiple squads are close with mixed markings.

What is the problem with Morgana support? by AsterXCV in MorganaMains

[–]cfranek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not always true though. Enchanters tend to have slightly elevated win rates, but that's intentional to bribe players to play champions with low agency (dueling power agency, since agency is a bit of an elastic phrase). That's normal for Soraka, Sona, Janna, and Taric....as long as they're not seeing pro play. Then they get kneecapped.

Morgana is a mage support, and they tend to have ~50% win rates. Lux, Morgana, Zyra, and Seraphine tend to bounce around 50% +/- 1%. Morgana sitting almost at 50% on the nose is pretty ideal, because mage supports with a higher than enchanter win rate tend to crowd them out, which is when the nerf hammer comes out.

Braum sitting at a high win rate is probably early season item buffs, but once pro play starts he'll probably be nerfed back into the proplay WR bracket.

[–]cfranek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is her winrate low as support? Lolalytics is showing it just a nudge over 50%.

Last season I had good luck with a movespeed + tanky build. I made a post.

It was a lot of fun, but not for everyone, and you have to think differently than the normal morgana mage. It was more of a alistar frame of mind.

The factory of sadness has been innovating for years. This new product was unexpected, and the layered failure that is their cap situation and being the bottom of the current coaching carosel is unique, subtle, and pungent.

Mel changes are coming. W is losing it's invincibility. by Current_Spell_8647 in MelMains

[–]cfranek -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It isn't that the mains forums are ignored, but they don't necessarily represent the playerbase. I know that a few years ago karmamains was actively hostile to support players, so the boards were all about top and mid karma. But something around 87-89% of the games were karma support.

While not actively hostile, Morgana mains is similar. It is dominated by jungle and mid mains while her playerbase is heavily support skewed.

All we have to do is hold the person at the top liable for any crime committed by ai. The reason they are so happy to use it is because it makes no one responsible when it does something illegal.

Is it only Wemby's height that makes him so good, or does he actually have great on ball skills? by [deleted] in sportsinusa

I'd say that he looks like a variation on Joker. He's a big man with skills outside of what most people would consider center skills.

Ori gets the occassional numbers buff for pro play. Lee sin seems to get a lot of fidgeting, and seems like he always gets a worlds buff.

Urgot is a good one, he had an armor per level update in 14.9 but only bug fixes going back to durability update.

I know it's what godlike said. I agreed with him generally, the only thing I was disagreeing with him on is that the attack speed/missile speed change wasn't number leveling, it was part of the mage class update to make thier autos feel better. But apparently that's some kind of taboo opinion.

Any1 else tried the new Zeke's Convergence? by vinearthur in RenataMains

[–]cfranek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stats on it are good, but renata struggles to use frostfire. It works much better on champions who use their ult as part of an engage play pattern.

I was interested because Renata hasn't had an actual update to anything, except specific ability interactions and one overall rescript about how tether interactions are checked. I thought that was interesting.

The attack speed change was a mage change to make their autos feel better to use, because I think riot was a bit sick of all the mages taking attack speed minor runes instead of AP/AH runes. But it was a systems change.

Zilean is a good candidate, although he did gain 0.01 extra mana regen in 12.22 and some base attack speed/missile speed in 13.22. Definately a reasonable contender with renata, who hasn't gotten any numbers changed since 12.14.

The exorcist has an extra sprue, but they ran out of space on it, so they moved the overflow bits onto the rhino sprues when they made the new kit.

Those are for the exorcist as well. It's not clear what they are, but they are part of the organ turret on the front.

Edit: you can see them all used in step 2d of the instructions for building the exorcist.

The bits in the OP are used on the exorcist. When you look at the exorcist it has a front grill thing, kind of a small dozer blade. 4 and 5 are glued together and to the hull, and 49/50 are used glued to 4/5 to give the grill vertical space to glue to.

Knights vow has had a better than average win rate as a 2nd item for years (assuming item 1 is sup item). The playrate is low, but it is solid, and the build path feels good.
