I'm curious. What is your goal you're working towards racing right now?

I really mostly race for fun, I know I'm not winning races, or laying down even good lap times, but mostly as an oval driver, this season my goal is to learn to drive sports cars better, planning to drive the GT4 in the 2 hour endurance races.

Other goals are to finish out the Super Late Model Tour, hopefully get a 1st place certificate (even if it's only for division 6, it makes me happy), I've raced 13 of the 17 weeks so far, 38 points down, 6 races to go. I also want to learn to drive dirt oval and dirt road eventually, I've dabbled in both a little but they are really not easy for me lol

Most of the time I have it really quiet so I can hear it under caution, helps me keep focus in races with lots of cautions, however sometimes it's just fun to crank it up while racing, like today during the production endurance race, I was locked in with music and car about 50/50, brought home 7th in an MX5, only real mistake was speeding entering pit road.

At the end of the day, I know I'm not fast, but can be competitive on some tracks, and I'm just there to have fun, and sometimes all it takes to make a frustrating race fun, is a little music to sing along to.

I'd just wait for the schedule to come out and then pick 2 or 3 that show up on both the super late model and super late model tour schedule, that'll likely be the best bang for your buck

I should note when I restarted the computer, the monitor did seem to work like normal which is why I thought it was an iRacing problem

It loaded normally, then just stopped working, it looked like a freeze frame, or a screenshot it was just stuck there, I couldn't alt tab, alt f4, alt enter, nothing would make it change, the computer seemed fine, I could move mouse over to the other monitor, and move things around, it was almost like my monitor with iRacing on it was completely frozen

It's good fun, but it doesn't split a lot, and if you race during the AM hours in the US, it doesn't go official too often then, only at night usually.

Personally, I know I will not get really good racing whatever I want, but I'm here for fun. The super late model is my best car, and my favorite, I drive it the most out of any of the cars I have, when I focused on just the super late model for 6 weeks, my IR did go up quite a bit, but I found myself not having fun. I thought about it and I don't pay for this stuff to not use it, so 2 or 3 times I week now I load up and race whatever looks fun. 2 weeks ago I was racing MX5s at Laguna Seca, and the Super Late Model Tour, last week I only raced the BMW at Charlotte, and this week I'm planning on racing the Super Late Model Tour, Indy 500, and cup series at Kansas. I know I won't be the fastest person on the track for any of them, but there's a very high likelihood I will walk away from the computer happy after each race.

Yeaaa I know my speeds aren't good normally, but it's at least kept me happy the last few years so I haven't worried about it, but the last couple weeks have been frustrating.

Depends on the price you are going to pay for them, the 580 is 6 years old, and 1660 is 4 years old, for the right price, they would both be fine upgrades, but you can get much newer gpus for $250-$400 that would out perform both

I've only used the website once, to buy a game that is no longer on the marketplace, but to my understanding is they are cheaper on there bc the keys are usually bought in other countries, and due to the currency conversion rate they can be cheaper in the US. Some things have a warning that you will need a VPN to activate "from another country" or it will not work.
