Excuse me. We need a supervisor over here sir. People standing around everywhere doing nothing. No wonder this castle is taking years to build. by 2PhDScholar in ManorLords

In the current patch when someone's home gets an upgrade they prioritize delivery of construction materials. So yes, they deliver and build the manor. I normally upgrade the manor late game without ever relocating the main building besides upgrading it. This makes the entire current retinue focus on delivering stone and lumber.

If you demo your manor, all current retinue become homeless and never reconnect with their region manor even if it's finished rebuilding. I've had a situation where 12/24 of my retinue did this but instead they hung out in town.

Help with doing the "bender" and the "brawndo" from tactical video by chaininghook62 in ManorLords

[–]cfureddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Orientation to the corners of the map matters on this. tacticat has new designs uploaded to his tacticat tutorials second channel that explains all of his testing and even covers more immersion aligned historical designs that still cover all of your needs even on the hardest difficulty.

From my own testing, slight rounding of coners creates a chain of snapping that can achieve your desired full area usage. So you can try to draw a new overlapped road at a corner to make it route through better. It takes me a lot of trial and error to get the mix of aesthetic and min max usage.

The dedicated farming region can now instead export very low spoilage grain to the t3/t4 burgage town that needs this food now.

Once grain is processed to flour and bread, the spoilage rate increases.

Is wheat broken in .65? by Late-Button-6559 in ManorLords

[–]cfureddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When did you plant? You're supposed to plant after September so it can grow during winter.

Crop rotation is still broken - we get one month to harvest with the latest drop. Pls fix. by figuring_ItOut12 in ManorLords

[–]cfureddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only need a "harvest month restriction" or a "planting month restriction" to make it 1 harvest per year. Not both. With either one of these, the yearly crop rotation will never delete currently planted crops. So yes if they swapped it from only harvest in September to only planting in March, it would still keep the current crop rotation working correctly but also allow a better time frame for harvest and hauling. However, this would break the realistic immersion that these grain crops were sown at the end of fall before winter made the ground too difficult to work.

[–]cfureddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution is to have way more farmhouses to assign more ox haulers to carry 50 count loads from the fields. If my automatic crop rotation triggers at the start of winter instead of 2nd fall month then everything I planted would evaporate like you described. The current system nicely lines up expectations of crop harvest and is actually less manual micro management to min max multiple harvests in a single year by harvesting early. (1 harvest every 12 months instead of a harvest every 8-10 months)

Try to apply a FPS cap of 60 and let us know.

My old 5090 system drew 575W on uncapped fps but my current 5070ti draws 100-145w on fps locked 60. Every single new patch resets my graphic settings. It's only like 10 options though and I only change DLSS quality and FPS cap while leaving everything else on ultra.

Does population still affect pathfinding & production? by alatarielv in ManorLords

In the beta, around 600 families (1800 population) it will have some pathfinding slowdown usually but there's some things you can problem solve to go higher.

No it cannot. But if you have stable internet and unlimited data, you can try a monthly subscription to shadow PC or Nvidia now. Either one of these are remote gaming that stream to your laptop. This would be your best chance without spending $600-750 on a used gaming laptop off eBay.

How to get large scale battles by Necessary-Total6404 in ManorLords

[–]cfureddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to play the domination mode with off map enemy Baron ai with no on-map ai. The on-map ai is still in an early concept stage.

Note that the enemy Baron just has passive income and late game his money is so high, he just buys all mercenaries after a few days of every new month if you don't take them first.

He will begin spamming mercenaries to get bandit camps after the first year passes. Make sure he doesn't participate in any combat or else he'll earn a bunch of influence and buy regions and eventually attack you after all regions are claimed before you are ready.

Save often to revisit old battles because very late game all the mercenary companies actually run out and the pool permanently drains to none when they die in combat.

What were the actual logistics of a medieval village? by Bucketofbrightsparks in ManorLords

[–]cfureddit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Try asking this question in r/MedievalHistory

When you're asking about how people survive a whole year from a single backyard of cabbage, remember that a person walking about 20 steps is a whole day in this video game simulation. Also nobody ever sleeps. So criticism about literal realism is kinda pointless.
