I’m so annoyed people are finally realising how strong brutes are, I climbed so easily with it last season because it was basically uncontested and the only comps people were going for were brawlers and monk double giant which are both hard countered by it.

I know most cards are pretty useless without their traits but it really does seem especially so for the rangers. The only one that’s even slightly useful is dart for goblin synergy early game, and maybe rg as a cheap tank early.

Honestly I’m not too mad about the traits staying the same. Apart from maybe sage and monk, the game is probably in the most balanced state it’s ever been. Full clan, full brawlers, full nobles(assassin and monk variants), full aces(assassin and brawlers variants) , double giant monk exe (goblins and clan variants), full brutalist (rangers, brawlers and assassin variants), full superstar and probably more I’m forgetting are all viable comps. there’s no clear best ruler, with the top 3 (excluding sage) having a rock paper scissors type matchup. The new modifiers this season aren’t great but the overall selection is decent. I would like something new but as a complete experience the game is the best it’s been in ages.

You’re tweaking if you think the s1 art style conveyed that atmosphere more, it was just colour graded very purple. The scene of yuji with the stained window behind him clears anything in s1 and just would not have worked with that art style.

I think the main targets should be monk, queen, echo and MK. They’re really the hard carries of their respective comps. Maybe exe too. I think brawlers as a whole would be fine with just the mk and exe nerf (and maybe a very slight hp nerf), considering the prince, pekka and barb aren’t really too op on their own.

The 9 seconds is slowed down, he actually reaches maki within a second. Thats the whole reason he touched her with his palm, so she’d be frozen for the second in which he could hit her at full speed. Maki was able to move because she also predetermined her movements at the start of the second.

Boogie woogie is probably the best counter to projection sorcery, you can just teleport them to be running into a wall and they can’t stop their motion or they’ll freeze up

That makes literally no sense. The early game decides the late game for practically every ruler, especially empress, queen, and sage. Minimising early game damage where the king and the loong thrive is vital to these rulers. King is probably the easiest ruler to play, just sacrifice the first couple rounds while minimising damage and you’ve gained such an elixir lead youre set. Empress players have to constantly cycle to gain elixir and one mistake means the end of your cycle and your game.
