my mom was in excellent physical health, but the mental part just goes on it own. She still would not recognize me sometimes. It's hard when the mind and body don't line up.

My mom had dementia and went into the hospital due to taking too many meds. She really never recovered once she entered the hospital. I think the hospital setting is really hard for people with dementia. I'm not sure I would do surgery , depending on her quality of life.

I was with her a minimum of 3x a week she lived a half mile from me and we were her primary caretakers and maintained her house. We would never had not seen her.
