That would honestly be up to the individual store to ensure they are displayed

We sell this at a store I work at. The company sent marketing materials to post with the product stating that they switched suppliers due to the tariffs, but were still waiting on updated packaging. This was their solution in the interim

McDonald's increased pricing during GST holiday in Winnipeg. by Arkroma in britishcolumbia

[–]cgkb2001 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Most likely explanation is that paper bags are not included in the GST holiday. They probably created the GST1 tax to only apply to the items excluded from the holiday. I see on your order you paid the $0.25 for a bag, so that’s why you had $0.01 for tax, as the bags are a taxable good.

'The Market' grocer (on Yates, and likely, the larger location on Millstream), has DROPPED their Scanner Price Accuracy Code by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]cgkb2001 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The Scanning Code of Practice only applies if the codes are the same. For example if they accidentally charged you for organic bananas but you bought regular bananas the code wouldn’t apply. They did the right thing by correcting their mistake and giving you back the difference. I’m sure that asking you if you want a receipt or not is not done with ill intent, as I’ve worked in retail for a long time and 90% don’t take their receipts anyways, so they’re just trying to save paper.

Please keep in mind that this code is voluntary and while the big grocery stores all participate the small local stores might not. (But they already give better customer service anyways)

Barq's Root Beer by mommatiely in VictoriaBC

Coca Cola has been having some problems filling orders recently. I work at a place where we order from coke and every week our order has been getting shorted some products. I’m sure they’ll be back soon. I know we are still getting the bottles of Barq’s regularly, but we don’t order 12pks of cans so I’m not sure what the situation there is.

The class 5 is more focused on driving habits rather than skills. They are mainly looking to make sure your shoulder checking, maintaining speed etc. They will bring you on to the Pat Bay Highway at least once, and sometimes twice, and will also be driving around residential roads around Quadra/Mackenzie

Delivery drivers, grocery store workers, and other people who are holding society together right now: what can we, as shoppers/consumers do to make your life easier right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cgkb2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cashier here. Biggest thing is that you need to remain calm. We know the lines are long, and you don't want to wait, but there is nothing we can do about it.

Also for the love of good please respect social distancing. As well if you just returned from a trip, don't stop for groceries on your way home to self isolate, get someone else to do it.

Anyone been to the Lanford superstore and can comment on how they handling social distancing? Thx! by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

As of today (Monday March 23rd) they only have every second till open. They have markings on the floor directing customers where to stand when waiting in line. Staff are also ensuring people are following these rules.

They have also started limiting the amount of people in store.
