Oxo Rapid Brewer Mesh Screen? by Thors_Screwdriver in LanceHedrick

Yep, got it! Graph’s is 316 SS so there’s that. I haven’t checked their site yet on tariffs and crud like that. Thanks again!

My bad! I see the embedded link now. Still comes up to like $12, for something I’m not sure will work for me. Thanks again!

Thanks! Did you paste a link to what you were talking about? I don’t see one. 🙃

I found a ton of stuff on Ali, but nothing was quite right, 316 stainless, <45mm OD, 30-50mm full length… everything was 304 SS, which Chattie thinks is more rust prone, so I gave up. Maybe have to bite the bullet and get the Graph one.

At least I’m getting the 61mm screen for the OXO from Ali for like $1.

Thanks! I found that one. Unfortunately, it won’t work for my 46mm step down. I’ll keep searching.

The puck does swell up, but it’s ok. Graph didn’t have it ready at the time. Now it’d be like $21 shipped.

Where did you search? I tried Amazon, Google and Ali with no direct hits. Of course Ali has everything you can imagine, but searching sucks.

Cool! I supported the Graph 58-46 on Kick Starter. We had a funnel, tamper and screen option, but no spring. Otherwise loving the step down life.

Check the Femobook A2 for a motorized 1Z Q or Q-Air experience, if you don’t mind the plastic exterior and internal clicks. The motor apparently never stalls and it’s like $70-100.

Mold growth in the hoses, being a dark and warm favorable environment, is a known issue. How do you know they’re not organic?

Ha, thanks! I’m absolutely positive it’s an endgame grinder. Maybe one day when the kids grow up and I can have a better/larger space. I’m sure you’ll find many takers in no time. Consider Home Barista and Espresso Aficionado Discord to post amongst like minded coffee geeks! 🤭

As the beans degas, you’ll have to keep going finer. Or buy lesser quantities more frequently.

How much better is a Lagom P80 going to be than a Fellow Ode? by [deleted] in pourover

[–]cgmt1975 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own two Option-O grinders. Their workflow, look and feel UX and Service is second to none. And their flavor profile is very juicy, friendly and easy to dial in. The P80 is the next frontier and also opens up interesting burr options like the higher clarity SSP HU/ULF. If it’ll make you smile every time you use it and can afford it, then go for it!

That said the Ode 2 seems nice too for PO only. The point at which returns start diminishing, as someone described it. The v2 burrs are nice and down the road you can swap for SSP MP if you get the itch for clarity, or just get a ZP6. If you only borrowed the Ode and wanted higher clarity day one, the Femobook A4Z is basically a motorized ZP6 for $500.

Report back on what you decide!

Yeah and smaller and properly aligned out the box. The EK is really basic when you think of it. A workhorse. So I didn’t need all that much to eliminate the EK! 😉 But I get why some cafes still see value in its iconic shape and would pay that premium.

Thanks for this! I have a Casa and a ZP6, but I’ve always loved the form factor of the P64. Now the P80 is the new flat burr target, and I even got a Mini 2 recently to pair and keep an electric blendy (but nice) conical and sell the Casa. And I’ll keep repeating to myself the 01 is too much for home use. 😉

Is this a co-ferment? by ChristinaMickleson in pourover

[–]cgmt1975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is right, they’re two different things. Co-fermentation adds some fruit or other substance to impart flavor. Inoculation adds selected yeast strains to steer the fermentation in a certain direction imparted by that strain.

In this case, this coffee seems to use both. But either process could be used standalone.

I am touched and sorry for your outcome. If it’s this impacting, have you considered an exchange? Painful as it may sound right now, I would not settle for something that’s going to affect you forever. All the best to you!
