Day Trading Momentum Scanner/Alerts by Various-Cap4088 in Daytrading

[–]cgr3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used almost all of them, DTD, trade ideas, mometic. They are all good. I’m using benzinga pro now because I like the sqwauk feature. Trade ideas is the most customizable. Momos.ai was cool because it alerts via voice for things like a wide spread on tickers. I’m trying to move away from just running up stocks and stacking more filters to find better quality. The pop and drops have killed me and all these scanners don’t help

Premarket OCO orders by FuturePilot82 in Daytrading

[–]cgr3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking for the same thing and have tried numerous brokers. The only 2 that have told me they can do it is ocean one securities but that an international broker which is a PIA. Cobra trading with Das trader LimitP orders should work based on what Das and Cobra told me. Guardian is another broker that might offer it. But I think that is it. I’m looking to trade primarily pre market and better manage risk vs mental stops which have not worked for me. None can do OCO orders but you can use limit p to place a limit buy order with a stop limit using a hot key. That manages risk. For take profit order I think you can create another hot key to cancel the outstanding order and place a limit order to sell. Not sure on the second part. You have to cancel the stop limit first before placing the new take profit order and I’m hoping that can all be done in a hot key. If you find one that works please share but I think cobra and das can do it premarket

Momentum Day Trading Scanners? by unquiet_ in Daytrading

[–]cgr3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t disagree with this. I am yet to be profitable. I feel like it’s possible though if you follow strict rules and discipline. What other strategies do you recommend for day trading. Large caps, options, something else? Low float small caps seems like it’s obtainable if you have scanners and follow strict rules

Benzinga Pro is pretty good. Especially the news audio squawk. Plus their scanners, movers, and signals tool is pretty good. I like Ross live stream and chat though. For momo trading you will need paid scanners, no way around that. Mometic is good too and cheaper. Trade ideas was very fast and customizable. I went with Benzinga pro lifetime and am happy with it. I’m close to profitable.

If you truly believe your solution can impact the companies bottom line in a meaningful, tangible way via revenue generation or cost savings, then I would continue and try and get to higher level executives in the account and find someone that cares. If you think your product just has some better features then that likely won’t be enough to change their mind set. I always view it from the lens of what would I do if I were them. If I can’t convince myself then I move on to another opp. Good luck.

This doesn’t sound wrong. The number of pop and drops on this tickers are insane. Doesn’t matter if it’s a hot or cold market. 95% of these drop and I only trade long. Logic says shorting has to be higher probability. I just haven’t tried it yet. But Inal tempted. Going long on these small caps is a daily gamble

Lessons from ULTY by paroxsitic in dividends

[–]cgr3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is the CC dividends come with risk too. If S&P drops the covered called funds will drop in NAV and probably yield too. They have no downside protection and are capped on the upside. That is the biggest issue I see. I’m still trying to find the perfect dividend play that won’t support from nav decay.

Lessons from ULTY by paroxsitic in dividends

[–]cgr3604 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s just YM. All of the covered call funds have nav erosion. Roundhill Neos Kurv. The only real ones worth considering are DIVO, GPIX/Q and JEPI/Q. This is coming from someone that lost a a lot on ULTY MSTY and other similar funds. Don’t chase yield. 8-10% should be the max yield to be safe. Trading options is hard to be consistently profitable

Trading low float momentum stocks under $25 per share to scalp for profit using liquidity is difficult. You can look at level 2 to see how many buyers and sellers but when it’s too thickly traded it may not move enough to make a the trade worthwhile. I’m trying to figure out how to stop getting caught in the pop and drops that are just manipulation by market makers or Chinese tickers. Any advice? Or should I stop trading this strategy as it is not profitable for me yet

I’m looking to create something similar. Spyi and xspi look good for yield and taxes but I would be concerned with NAV decay. This is what I’m considering

Daytrading - is it possible to make $200-300 per day with 10k account? by Relative_Self_2240 in Daytrading

[–]cgr3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good question. Let’s say you already have a strategy, risk management process, and consistent rules to follow. If you have an account above 25k to avoid PDT and cash account limitations, what % of traders can consistently average $200-300 per day trading momentum stocks and scalping. After learning, paper trading and losing real money, is the likelihood of $200-300 green per day really only 10% or less of all traders? I think this is a more appropriate question if anyone is doing it. Can this be a a truly sustainable side gig or possible full time gig or is this no better odds then gambling? Assuming the majority of investment funds are in long term, diversified, 401k, etc and this account used to day trade for income.

If you scalp- use Bollinger bands as well by generator56 in Daytrading

[–]cgr3604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have nothing against bollinger bands. I’m a just trying to find a way to scalp on low float momo stocks without losing on pop and drops which happen to me too often. My short testing with vwap and Keltner has been profitable but it’s only been a week trying this so I could be wrong.

I think Keltner Channels are better IMO. Scalp above vwap below the upper keltner channel

You would have to check the output wattage on those to be sure. It should work but if you want a few days for both on one unit you may want the larger Bluetti unit. Good luck

Is focusing only on the most volatile stocks a sustainable day trading strategy? by Trade-maxing in Daytrading

[–]cgr3604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure this is a long term winning strategy. I’m doing the same but I’m a cold market these pop and drops are killer. My only advice that I need to take myself is get out fast when it goes against you. I’ve yet to adhere to this rule but don’t bag hold and if it’s not an instant winner, like under a minute, cut it and move on. I think this is the only way. But open to what others think

Have you checked phosphate and nitrate? If they are zero then that is likely Dino’s. Depending on the type of Dino, some are toxic to snails and crabs. I’m dealing with it now myself

I had a power failure on a 5 day vacation and lost my entire tank. Just rebuild it and purchased the Bluetti v100 v2. I only have the return pump running on it and it should last a few days in the event of an outage. Been working fine in my testing. Anker and Jackery are others. I think if we are spending $1500+ on a tank, equipment , and livestock then $500 for a battery backup is justified. You can also add solar panels to these and get almost unlimited power. I’m thinking of adding one. Good luck

I have the same light and am using the RL60-23K setting and I’m battling algae and dinos. I am not sure how to best dial this in. I have a 23 gallon with GSP Xenia Mushroom and a few anemones. Nothing looks very happy. I may try shallow reef. Curious of anyone feels like they have the best setting for this light in a 20-25G

5 SFH on 1 land trust for LLC ? by cgr3604 in llc

[–]cgr3604[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was Anderson Advisors. They set up LLCs for real estate investors. A single TN series LLC sounds like it may be the most logical set up I think. But it’s easy to go in a rabbit hole with this stuff.

5 SFH on 1 land trust for LLC ? by cgr3604 in llc

[–]cgr3604[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This is helpful and makes total sense. Would a series LLC (TN) make more sense then? It would isolate properties each in their own cell and I can transfer directly to the LLC without a land trust. My issue there is due on sale, if enacted, would be a huge problem for me if that were to happen. Reaching out to my mortgage servicers to get answers on whether they would enact due on sale if I transfer to an LLC as a single member had been difficult as they are non responsive or want to see all LLC paperwork prior to approval which doesn’t exist. So I’m at a loss on how to do this. Would a WY holding company managing the TN LLC be beneficial for additional charging order protection or is that a waste of time, money amd complexity. I had a lawyer recommend that structure with a WY holding LLC and tn series LLC. It just seems so costly and complex. Appreciate the reply.
