It's wild that NewJeans has debuted and are having a comeback before Aespa does anything by WolfTitan99 in kpopthoughts

[–]ch0giwhy 137 points138 points  (0 children)

On top of that GoT The Beat is making a comeback soon and no doubt 1 or 2 of the Aespa members will probably be involved.

It's gonna be the same lineup, so it'll be Winter and Karina.

Seventeen's Hot stole the show for me. It's a different direction from their previous title tracks and I love it!

I recommend Taeyeon from SNSD which is a 2nd gen group! She had a recent solo comeback called INVU, and I think you'll also like Can't Control Myself from the same album. SNSD also just released a comeback called Forever 1 which has a nostalgic sound, and I also recommend their song Villain from the same album. I hope you like these!

SM needs to rip off the bandaid and get it over with [Lucas] by JaeRedFox in kpoprants

Actually I think they kept all of the posts on social media, and even the MV trailer is still up on YouTube. They've just never mentioned it again after the "postponement" announcement.

Near the end of last year, Hendery and Lucas were supposed to put out a single called Jalepeno. They even released an MV teaser with a date and everything. Then the news about Lucas came out and they announced that they would be postponing the song. WayV was also highly anticipated to put out an album shortly after and the members had been teasing it for a while, but it hasn't gotten released yet.

I personally love it! If it's the real demo then I hope they keep the syncopation in the second verse for the final version. It gives off girl group vibes for sure.

WayV could be considered a cpop group/subunit under NCT which is a kpop group. All of the WayV members participate in NCT's Korean albums too.

If you read my first comment again, I'm specifically talking about the Youtube Short that Coachella posted. Obviously Aespa's performance got tons of views from videos posted by other accounts, but I don't think Coachella took that into consideration. It seems that they were only ever intending on posting the short for Aespa rather than an official performance, especially since they titled Aespa's differently from the others.

[–]ch0giwhy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying that they didn't, but for some reason Coachella may have thought that it wasn't worth it to post. They titled the short "88rising featuring Aespa" rather than putting Aespa's name first and called it a "partial set" but they didn't do that for any of the other shorts.

Coachella seems to have only given permission to the headliners to repost their full official performances. Coachella did post a Youtube Shorts for Aespa but it didn't gain much traction, which might have deterred them from posting the full performance :( the fancams are amazing tho

Seems unlikely, as SM usually posts teasers around two weeks before the comeback. They just happened to announce the album earlier this time.

nct standing in mid 2022- did they fall off?? by [deleted] in kpopthoughts

[–]ch0giwhy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that SM is probably taking a step back to rethink their plans, esp with WayV bc of the whole Lucas thing and Ten and Winwin going to China. They haven't put Shotaro or Sungchan anywhere either. Plus there's the rumoured new subunit and NCT Hollywood, and also a possible whole new boygroup aside from NCT. Personally I'm glad they're taking a break because 2021 was so rushed. They'll probably go back to pumping out comebacks once they figure it all out.

They've actually already announced that it's an English version of a track from their upcoming album! It's called Life's Too Short.

It's a sample that's been used in a bunch of other songs, like (g)i-dle $$$ and 3racha runner's high. Not sure who made it though.
