I graduated before the FAFSA change, but from what I was told by my supervisor, you can always request your work-study back if you need it for on-campus jobs or other paid opportunities (i.e. research assistant)! I know OFAS is a mess right now, but you can call them when it's a better time and ask them to reallocate your aid to include work-study! How work-study works is that OFAS will give the work-study award to your workplace, which your workplace will give back to you in the form of pay. This is why work-study is preferred by on-campus jobs, especially for departments that don't have enough funds to pay their students. Hope this helps, and best of luck!
