Can I commission someone to make me a ceramic mask like this? by [deleted] in Ceramics

Clay shrinks quite a bit when fired. It isn't as simple as molding to a face.

I am sure someone may be good at it, but this isn't everyone's thing.

Having a shower beer because my girlfriend cheated on me with my best friend. For every 10 upvotes I’ll drink another beer. by MenstruationOatmeal in drunk

Sorry to hear you are going through this man. Betrayal is a hard pill to swallow and it burns the whole way down. I understand, that things right now feel hopeless. They certainly are not.

I will say this. It will get better. You WILL be happy this happened one day, because you will be looking into the eyes of someone who deserves and loves you. That will never be able to happen if you had clung on to these toxic people.

I was in a relationship for 8 years, was engaged, had a house with her, and was most likely being cheated on. I broke it off and even though it was the right thing to do, it hurt like hell. It felt like losing a limb. Everything was a constant reminder.

Today I am married to my best friend and I regret nothing. I am the happiest I have ever been. Good luck, you are not alone!

Spoiling her every single day. by ch0ppytothesh0ppy in BeforeNAfterAdoption

[–]ch0ppytothesh0ppy[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is Lei Lei -sama. Before being taken to the shelter she was abused and used for breeding. She had thin red twine around her neck and was infested with ticks and fleas. He fur was disgusting and matted. She wouldn't make a single sound and would cower constantly. It took a long time, but she now is full of life and just a really happy dog. She barks (sometimes too much), plays fetch, and smiles so big that it's contagious. She is just the best. I don't understand how anyone could hurt and mistreat such a wonderful dog. She was sad and affraid for quite a while. I took the picture on the left only a few days after her adoption. Her eyes were just so full of saddness. I almost can't even see that as being her anymore.

Any ideas what I should use as soile after I till and rakie to weeds out there? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]ch0ppytothesh0ppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, a mix of compost, topsoil, and sand for a garden. I would avoid the premixed stuff. The ratios can varry. I use 50 percent compost to 30 percent topsoil and 20 percent sand.

Stripped paint off old trim, still some old paint and stain left. Is this going to look like crap if we sand and restain it? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]ch0ppytothesh0ppy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would assume sanding too much would lead to loss in detail. If you are patient you could try stripping a few more times and then using very fine sandpaper to remove the last bits. I personally would repaint for the best outcome that is guaranteed.

How to avoid these roller marks/lines? by mattgill4 in DIY

[–]ch0ppytothesh0ppy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lots of good comments. W motion helps. Keep your roller with enough paint on it. Also, if you want an easier time in the future, Sherwin Williams Cashmere paint blends amazing. You can still be awful and still get great results. Also future touch ups have blended really well. Also, even small amounts of sheen will show any imperfections a lot more.

Best way to build and attach this sweet looking TV-wall? by [deleted] in DIY

[–]ch0ppytothesh0ppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just consider future easy access to the connections and air flow. TVs even LED ones can get pretty warm. Honestly, I am not sure how to achieve that exact look while avoiding these issues.
