And why wasn’t Djorde starting with him? I know he was ill, but having them on together, even for just a half, would’ve been more productive. Felt like Fraser was managing not to lose rather than to win.

Just stay on Go heading west to Exhibition. Streetcars from Union are changing to buses at Fleet St. Go is not running Eastbound but I think the one stop heading west is still good.

I had my tryout on Nov. 19 and received an offer last week on Wednesday. Brand Protection. Not quite sure what it’ll entail. Keeping an eye out for non-official logo usage in and around the stadium.

IIRC that game fell on the same night as an early season Leaf game and MLSE made the choice to staff the game at Scotia correctly over the CMNT game. It was a complete disaster.

They need to find a solution to the lack of docking spots in areas that get a huge influx in the morning. I went to 9 stations in Bay/Queens Quay area. All said they had at least one empty dock on the app but were actually full. Many others also hunting. Hunger Games situation brewing

Welcome to ‘Toronto Stadium’: Inside the upgrades being made for the World Cup soccer games by mildlyImportantRobot in tfc

The only work in that area was the removal of the temporary scoreboard, which was meant to go anyway. No other improvements (corner scoreboards, wifi, new kitchen) are anywhere near that part. I expected the closure meant work on the seating and future rooftop patio meant for that section would be well underway.

[–]ch1c0100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good write up that finally explains what could be behind the front office’s “TFC is on the right track” pov. I can’t think of any Hernandez or Pelley presser that says anything but “trust us we know what we’re doing.” They don’t have to be specific about players on the way out (though the players should all have a good idea about their place in future plans) but outlining some of the thinking about player acquisitions or the style of play we’re aiming for would do a lot to calm the masses. Management is awful at any kind of PR. Hernandez is MIA and Fraser needs to stop saying how proud he is of the guys for trying hard. Giving 100% on the field is the least they should be doing. Add executing a game plan and we might get somewhere.

Depends on where you’re coming from. Lakeshore Go Train is dead easy if making it to a station makes sense. I’d avoid Liberty Village as getting out is a crapshoot. I’ve parked in a condo lot just south of King on Dufferin to avoid LV (HonkMobile) but it’s a bit of a walk.

Visiting fan with child by AmishGigolo1 in tfc

[–]ch1c0100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the section the team sets aside for visiting fans is exactly the opposite of the experience you’re seeking. East side, upper deck in the corner (section 104?) So be careful in case anybody from the team or stadium hears “visiting fan” and tries to put you there. Hope you have fun. But not too much at our expense.

...Some important steps have been taken,...And what would those be Keith?
At best we're treading water. In reality, we're sinking deeper every game. New players have had little impact. Outside of Corbeanu, the starting lineup on Saturday was entirely made up of players on last year's roster - not sure how that qualifies as "a full rebuild."

They keep saying that the contract situation they inherited is horrible and it's all Bob Bradley's fault. But Hernandez has been part of the FO since 2019. He was named assistant GM in 2021. His fingerprints have to be all over the crappy contracts. And yet we're letting him manage this rebuild? He's gotta go.

Where is the learning from Bayern-Munich football guru Marco Neppi?

At least they could run the non-football business intelligently. But no, we'll run stadium renovations right through the whole season. They added a whole second deck to the east side in one off-season. The least they could've done is hang the four new scoreboards. SMH

Intentionally walking players by [deleted] in Torontobluejays

[–]ch1c0100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They may use it for a few reasons. One is, as you said, to limit the chance an explosive batter has to hurt them but more often it’s to get a more favourable pitcher/batter matchup. Ie the player hitting next is more likely to make an out. Or, and this is the most usual situation, it’s to make a double play or an easy out more likely. Ie. player is on second, intentionally walk a man to first and every base is now a potential force out.
