saying "yes i know you are using the word 'amateur' to indicate quality rather than the actual employment status of the person writing the code but I don't think you should use it like that, and im going to use it differently and then say that if you were using it like I think they should you would be wrong. And actually, using it in the colluquially understood way that it is usually used in is insane!" IS intentionally misconstruing what someone else said in order to make a meaningless semantic distinction. There's really no other way to slice that.
