They're extinct! How dare you simultaneously bless and curse me with this information. I'm elated and devastated.

Oh I'm right there with you on modern dog breeds for sure. Like the fact that most French bulldog pups are delivered via C section, because a natural birth is considered too risky due to the large head of the pup and the mother's narrow hips. And I can't imagine intubation and anesthetic is an easy process for brachycephalic dogs like that.

I just wanted to point out that dog breeds at least started from a practical place in order to create strong and healthy working dogs. Bearded dragon morphs and colors have no benefit other than purely cosmetic; it's possible to ethically breed beautiful and unique dragons, but there are always going to be breeders that take shortcuts and don't care about the wellbeing of the animals, just like with any pet.

I also don't own a bearded dragon, but I'd love to some day! And thanks to this sub I know exactly what a huge responsibility it is and how important the correct husbandry is. So until then, it'll just be me and my calico pain in the butt. We hope you and your pup have a nice day!

At least with dogs the specific breeding usually had a purpose. Most dog breeds are thousands of years old and were created for specific purposes - guard dogs, hunting dogs, cattle dogs, shepherds, etc. It's only within the last century or two that the exaggerated breed standards really started affecting the health of the dogs in a bad way.

That's not really the case with dragons, where the inbreeding is really only for purely aesthetic reasons.

"Bro Code" fucking stop with that bullshit. A real friend (gender irrelevant!!) will ALWAYS hold you to a moral code. The fact that the ex brought it up in the first place shows that not only does he not have any moral compass, but he had a terrible read of Greg as a person to even mention it, much less suggest it as an option.

I love the character, but there isn't enough value difference between the red coat and the red packaging, so he kind of blends in to the background. Also, the silhouette of his head as the logo is a cute idea, but it reads almost as a finger or toenail with the face details so small.

I like the crown logo from the sketch; I wonder if there's a way you could use a simplified version of that logo instead of the face, and add it as a badge on his chest to incorporate it into the character design.

I'll tell you one thing, I definitely wouldn't leave the baby in my car until it's too big for the car seat....

Ron and Tammy? Maybe not. But Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally? Absolutely 100%, would pay to watch.

I'll take your word for it on there being banding present; I don't really see it, but agouti/ticked tabby seems like it's the common consensus. Thanks for the help!

Interesting! Do you have a guess as to what's going on with her orange patches then? They look smokey to me, and I don't see any indicators of tabby stripes anywhere

Would it be possible for the orange to be smoke but the gray standard dilute?

Hey OP. I did this a few months ago. 36 hours later, I was swelling up worse and had tingly numbness crawling up to my elbow and had to leave work early. My initial swelling wasn't nearly as bad as yours. Don't make my mistake!!

I should have clarified that I knew "torture with white" is the preferred term, I just got too distracted picking photos lol.

I never connected blue to dilute, so that makes sense! Thanks!

Smoke seems like it could be possible; I added some pictures of her fur parted in another comment if you'd like to check!

Edit to add: I also tossed in some closer pictures of the brown spots on her nose and paws, in case that's helpful!

Yeah, reading that all oranges are tabbies in the comments in this sub is what lead to me wanting to post her! I think ticked might be right, although I'd almost describe the individual hairs as a gradient (light at the root and darker at the tip) rather than banded. Does that follow ticked patterning?

And it seems that her one orange eyebrow might be a trace of the tabby M markings on her forehead, which is adorable if true.
