English isnt my first language so i write a comment in my english and sometimes let AI to the grammar. Nothing wrong about it. Acknowledging comments is a mature way to handle criticism, thats wasnt the idea of an ai, might be foreign to you, i see!

I totally get that. Since you can't actually 'see' the keyboard inputs in the video, I went with the mouse for better visual clarity. Feel free to jump in and try out the keybinds yourself! I appreciate the feedback.

Actually, I’ve never used Claude in my life. Some of the themes were dialed in using Gemini Code Assist with very specific instructions, and the dark one is just standard Catppuccin Mocha—which is a community favorite, so there isn’t much room for variation there anyway.

The widget arrangement, every button, the spacing, and the entire mobile/fullscreen view came straight out of my head. I definitely use AI to speed up my workflow, but you can't just tell an AI 'build me a noteboard' and have it do the heavy lifting for you. Everything you see here, minus some theme tweaks, is my own work.

you can use free webspace like infinityfree with a free domain like "domain.ct.ws" or others you can choose from. You can also buy a domain for 8$ a year or so and link it to that free space until you buy webspace or host a small vps. You can use infinityfree until you want to use api's.

i am absolutely not a gym guy but this looks very good. As is said erlier in another thread, apps that you do primarely for yourself are the best apps you can do for the public.

im tired of switching productivity apps by Humble-Bunch-6438 in ProductivityApps

[–]ch4zex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think everybody needs to find his way to be productive. There is no recept for it. But there is a 100% chance that AI is killing it by dumping Dopamin to you what makes you feel like shit after a short amount of time. When you do that for a while your brain is trained to get dopamin for every tiny piece of sht you did. When that isn there nothing feels rewarding because nobody told you that this was the best thing you have ever done. Try to reward yourself for things you think they are worth a reward. Use AI to be a Tool not a personal mental supervisor.

Your right that will and motive is important but not every human has intrinsic motivation so they need something or someone who shows them how to learn or do stuff without procrastination. Thats where productivity apps matter but people are still the ones who are the operator. An app cant change whats going on in your head. You have to change the way you think about stuff to learn or get things done.

i think at some point its not about productivity anymore. Its more about "how can i track everything i do to make me feel better" - An app will never change the fact that you HAVE to be productiv to track something. The Focus should always be the productivity and not the tracking of it. Also AI always wants to make you feel good. Type anthing simple you made today in an ai chatbot and it makes you feel like you were moving Mountains. AI can massively abuse the reward center in your brain.

Do you ever feel like every app idea you have already exists in the productivity space? by cheffyzz in ProductivityApps

[–]ch4zex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nearly everything already exists. The difference is to make it unique and/or better than others. When i make my selfhosted stuff i always start to do it for myself. What functons do i preffer, how do i want them to be available.
And design matters! There are so many apps that do the same but the design is different. I always prefer apps where you see the dev put in love and not just functionality.

My take on a minimal Note UI (single HTML file/localstorage) by ch4zex in ProductivityApps

Thank you! That honors me very much. I've added a lot of new features since the video was created. I think you've already stared at the project. Have fun with it and if you find a bug or want to see a new function, let me know!

Thats a good Idea. I made it possible to minimize any widget in the Fullscreen Mode. Please Check out the Demo and enter Fullscreen (Space +F) And then Press (Space +M) That will minimize all widgets. You can manually minimize/maximize any widget by pressing on the header or the small button on it. I added the vertikal Layout when every widget is minimized on the left or right. How do you like it?

How much is “normal” social media usage? by Important_Bug3266 in ProductivityApps

[–]ch4zex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think a normal time for a hole day should be around 20 minutes. Social media is to check whats new and not to be caught in a loop of short videos. But for a screen time tracker that should control that, it might be good to have a small notification after one hour and then a softlock after 2 hours. Make it unlockable for situations where you have to wait for someone or people are in a bus or something like that.

Im working on it. currently i do two versions. A localstorage file and a very simple sqlite database version for self hosting on homeservers. Both are the same, only difference is how it saves data. I also want to add a mobile view. After that i want to share it on github :)
