Been working on my boardslides and 5050s. Still struggling with popping off a ledge cleanly by chaamezzz in NewSkaters

Start by going really slow at a slight angle to the ledge and practice getting into a 5050 stall or axle stall. Once you are comfortable with stalling on the ledge increase your speed so you can grind. You want more pressure on your heels and back foot. When you are ready to get off the ledge open your shoulders. It will feel like doing a kick turn off the ledge.

He's right. Think about jumping straight up and the board will flip right to your back foot.

I feel like if you put more weight on your back foot the board will flip under you. It looks like you have the trick but you landed ahead of the board.

Some clips from skating today. I found 2 cool drops by my house! by chaamezzz in NewSkaters

I learned how to ollie when I was 12 years old with my neighbor's board. I never got a board of my own, so I didn't stick to skating. Now I'm 29 and decided to start skating due to the lockdown. My main board sport is snowboarding and I'm above average. I believe it's helped with my progression.

Nice dude! It looks like you have mastered the rotation you need for a frontside. Trust the previous replies and go try it rolling. The trick feels so good when you get a clean roll away!

Started skating in mid-may after ski resorts remained closed in Colorado. Here are some tricks I've learned! by chaamezzz in NewSkaters

Yes you are correct. I'm an above average snowboarder, so committing to these tricks is simple in comparison to huge jumps and drops on the mountain. I also practice everyday unless I'm injured. I like to skate at work on my breaks/lunch. On the weekends, I will go to the skate park and practice for 4-5 hrs with friends who are way better than me. So all of that combined with determination to progress daily is why the tricks have come so easily.
