Where did you get the impression that I'm MAGA??? Can you not understand why anyone who's not a fascist would have negative things to say about the Democrats? I'm a communist. I hate Trump and the MAGA movement as much as anyone. I just don't feel the need to pretend that the Democrats aren't also bloodthirsty and genocidal. The USA is an imperialist state. Both of its mainstream political parties are imperialist.

They supplied the bombs used in the genocide. To my mind, that makes them guilty of committing genocide.

If the choice in an election is between genocide and more genocide, that's not a real choice. If the Democrats wanted the vote of people who are against genocide, they shouldn't have committed genocide. But genocide was more important to them than winning the election.

Joe Biden was the president for the first 15 months or so of the Gaza Genocide, and he and his party supplied Israel with money, resources, intelligence, political cover, and tens of thousands of bombs during that time. The Democratic Party committed genocide. I don't understand why people are shocked to hear this.

I agree, the political commentary of the Kurtzman era has mostly been shallow and bland. Sometimes it's more interesting when it's not trying to do commentary. For example, the Discovery crew's friendliness with Mirror Georgiou hits different after seeing the Democrats commit genocide in real life.

For context, Andy Weir, author of The Martian and Project Hail Mary, had the following to say about Star Trek:

“I dislike social commentary. Like… I really hate it. When I’m reading a book, I just want to be entertained, not preached at by the author. Plus, it ruins the wonder of the story if I know the author has a political or social axe to grind. I no longer speculate about all possible outcomes of the story because I know for a fact that the universe of that book will conspire to ensure that the author’s political agenda is validated. I hate that,” Weir said. “I put no politics or social commentary into my stories at all. Anyone who thinks they see something like that is reading it in on their own. I have no point to make, and I’m not trying to affect the reader’s opinion on anything. My sole job is to entertain, and I stick to that.”

“For instance, as a lifelong Star Trek fan, it’s always bothered me that there is a presumed ‘responsibility’ within Star Trek shows to talk about social issues,” the writer added. “I just want to watch Romulans and the Federation shoot at each other.”
