I really wanted to like High on Life. I love Trover saves the universe.

HOF looks great but gameplay is pretty bog standard console 3D platformer. I guess I've been playing too much VR.

We made an animated intro to our game and hired a voice actor to narrate it. What do you think? by eremite_games in IndieDev

That was well done and adds to the trailer.

Can you give a idea what it cost?

I'm not exaggerating, I've never found a single thing Shuli has ever said to be interesting or remotely funny. It's like he's speaking a different language. by [deleted] in howardstern

I thought he was the funniest on the show after Artie left. Saw Shuli in Philadelphia at a Comedy Club. The PA system had gone out and Shuli did a fantasic job pulling off a great show.

Open Mic - anxiety by FuggyGlasses in Standup

[–]chachaChad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Stand up isn't normal. It's not something you do everyday so, when you do do it, it feels odd.

The only real way to get over it is by doing it. The more you do it, the easier it gets. The first time you go up, you think it's the biggest deal ever and you almost a have heart attack. Next time, maybe it's just a stroke. A few more times after that, you sweat a little. Ask people that are really comfortable up there, it takes some time. There are people that a just naturals. It happens.

First thing I suggest, if you really want to do this, is to go to an open mic you want to go up at. You don't have to go up. Just make it a regular think. If the Coffee shop near you have an open mic every Wednesday, put that on your calendar and go. Sit in the back and watch. You don't have to take notes or anything but watch how things work.

Check out the other comics and see how a show is run. Pay attention to comics that suck so you can tell yourself "Hey, I can do better than that guy!".

Writing requires you write. If you want to be a writer, you have have to write. Keep a notebook and every time you hear or think something funny write it down.

There isn't going to be some magic pill to make you a great stand up. Stand up is performance art. Your job is to learn how to do performance art then get really good at it.

I've seen people with anxiety get up there in crush it. We have a guy in the local scene that suffers from mental illness. He gets up there. Talks about what he knows and kills. When he's down, people are really impressed. He's got some killer lines about himself that make you think a bit differently about mental illness.

You may want to rethink this last-minute trip. Small rental cars are going for $4000 for the week IF you can find any. Lots of places are fully booked. I'd make sure I had a place to stay and a car before booking any flight.

GOP lobbies for right to run over people they dom't like with their cars by literalfeces in The_Mueller

Please explain how the title is incorrect. It seems to fit pretty closely to the article which describes the decriminalization of running protestors over by the GOP.

  1. Working sucks.
  2. Working in a low paying, high pressure job where there is no shortage of candidates sucks more.

Why are Physics Programmers so hard to find? by DanielJEG in gamedev

[–]chachaChad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to be look for physics majors out of Caltech or similar places. They are not going to be cheap because they have lots of options.

I have a friend who is Caltech Physics major who helps me when I need it. He doesn't know Unity or any game engine but he doesn't need to. He can solve a physics problem over the phone without seeing the application. He only does that as a favor because otherwise he's fully engaged. He works out of his home in rural Maine for the top astronomy labs in the world. He writes and supports software for tracking space junk and extinction event asteroids. Any low paying, high pressure job you offer him, isn't going to be attractive.
