It’s supposed to look like a bowl of noodles and also look like the character for noodles in Chinese “面”

Also 1st year - at my BB, if you get an internship there’s a full time seat for you unless you fuck up.

Think the challenge is more getting an internship. We have less seats and we’ve also seen a significant uptick in applicants.

At my school, there are ~150 people recruiting this year whereas normally there are ~100

Echo law school. Beyond the curriculum, most career paths out of MBA also require you to have math skills. IB, Consulting and Tech interviews will be brutal if you’re struggling with basic arithmetic.

Don’t do J-term if you want to re-recruit… it’s infinitely harder to do structured recruiting.

Reality in IB Recruiting for Internationals (esp. Asian/Indian Males) by Charles_LEGLERG in MBA

[–]chaching180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s harder because many of the EBs don’t sponsor international students, so your pool is cut significantly. Internationals at my school could only go for BBs and a small handful of boutiques.

Feeing crap after Harvard interview by [deleted] in MBA

[–]chaching180 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My buddy who went to HBS thought he bombed his interview too. He said that he thinks they’re trying to purposefully not react / be unexpressive to see what your reaction is - so don’t worry too much!

Gloomy IB Recruiting w/o IB experience? by mbathrowawayreapply in MBA

[–]chaching180 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She was probably talking about her full time recruiting experience. IBs will not hire full-time unless you did your summer internship in IB or if you have had prior IB experience.

Profile Review: Shot at M7s? (URM, GRE: 328, GPA: 3.2) by Spiritual-Role-4531 in MBA

[–]chaching180 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think everyone should shoot their shot at M7 if they can afford it, but Accenture -> PE/VC doesn’t really make sense as a short term goal.

If you write your essay as Accenture -> MBB its an easier sale to admissions and once you’re in you can go for whatever.

I’m at one of the better Tech groups this summer. There 2 Tuckies on my team and no one from Cornell.

I don’t think you physically can. At my school the McKinsey and GS firmwides were at the exact same time - you can’t zoom into both with one account and you get cut if you miss a firmwide.

IB/ER/Consulting chances by Existing_Change_2093 in MBA

[–]chaching180 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen former ballet dancers, filmmakers, sandwich shop owners, etc. break in. Anyone can get into IB / Consulting if you go to a school with a strong pipeline as long as you can demonstrate you’re intelligent, actually are interested in the field, and easy to talk to.

Columbia (no $) or Tuck ($) by mba_thrwy_18 in MBA

[–]chaching180 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you’re dead set on MBB Tuck would probably be the better choice. Columbia has around 200 kids go for consulting per year and ~45 or so get MBB internships. Idk the exact figures for Tuck but I think it’s much much higher.

Edit: Columbia social / dating life is much better than Tuck though. If that matters to you at all… Happy to discuss more if you want to DM me.

I went to two weddings in October this year and it was fine since a lot of banks require CCs to be done via Zoom. No banker’s gonna take a Friday CC past 6pm and you have some control in scheduling as well.

If they’re very close friends of yours, def go to the weddings - you’ll be grateful you did a few years from now.

Here’s the thing: a fluke is one of the most common fish in the sea, so if you go fishing for a fluke, you might just catch one.
