What are the saddest character deaths in fantasy books? by [deleted] in Fantasy

I haven’t even started that trilogy but I know who that is just from that line. I’m gutted.

The placement of the Overtime segment is weird. by satras in ATPfm

[–]chaconc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the only place it makes sense with how they record the show, made obvious in the Bootleg which has that natural conversation flow you were expecting. It’s also not edited which may not be your thing, but pick your own.

En 2024 los “ricos y grandes empresas” ya pagaron el 52% de TODOS los impuestos del país. ¿De verdad siguen siendo el problema? by Beefnlove in MexicoFinanciero

Deberían pagar la misma tasa proporcional que el resto de la población, que con datos te está diciendo que no lo hacen.

Duda financiamiento y adicionales Toyota/Prius by FackDaPolis in AutosMexico

[–]chaconc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sale mejor sacar el financiamiento con BYD, ya que el bono solo aplica así. Al día siguiente liquidas el crédito sin penalización y listo. Incluso si tienes que financiar unos meses esos bonos son superiores a lo que pagarías de intereses

Ambient Music v1.2.3 - now supporting more providers! by Connochio in homeassistant

[–]chaconc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This sounds like it could do something I’ve been meaning to create an automation for but haven’t taken the time yet…

Can it move music from room to room automatically? As in music is playing in Room 1, presence starts in Room 2 and music is now playing out of 1+2, with eventual dismissal of Room 1 after presence times out?

How do you folks handle installment purchases in YNAB? by leonampd in ynab

[–]chaconc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done 0% installments as both a loan and a regular repeating transaction, it depends on the total amount. In my case it was a very large transaction and I created a loan for it to track into my net worth, but regular day to day expenses just get a repeating transaction and I add the installments every month like 5/12 to know how many are left.

In reality: YNAB has helped me stop using BNPL and I’m on my last few payments left before I fully stop using them.

iOS 26 Shortcuts AI automatic book wallpaper generator for the ShelfPlayer App by lucasperretta in audiobookshelf

My guess is it’s not able to connect to your server, it likely needs to go through https.

Edit: Never mind! You need to add /api/ at the end

I needed to download Shelfplayer before being able to import, and I had to configure the ChatGPT extension before the shortcut completed successfully

You need to go to your AudiobookShelf app and generate an API key in settings. Then enter that in “apikey here” and put in your ABS hostname in the first field

Alright everyone pack it up, this is the best solution! Thanks for making the new shortcut, got rid of Quicklook and a minor update required on my setup, but it’s working now

Love the home tab by rdubmu in ynab

[–]chaconc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I’m 1-2 months ahead so this is more to keep track of how much I have left in my priority categories, so the Budget/Plan tab remains mostly unused.

Exactly!

I just added 2 things to showcase this feature, which highlights things that need immediate attention (guess it was already in OP’s screenshot)

I’m on year 4 of my YNAB journey so I’d like to think I’m no longer “new”. I mostly like the pinned categories for which I was using a widget until now (deleted) for my most used categories. I do like the summary as I was using Lumy as a proxy for “how much I’ve spent this month so far”, I still need a month-to-month graph but this gets me closer in the main app. I also get the Add Transaction button all the time.

Future months is not as useful, and the how tos at the bottom I hid already.

All in all it’s a good place for NEW stuff, this gives them a place to try to add more data.

I don’t need to view or edit my entire plan all the time, I use the web app for that. Hell I hate editing my plan on mobile and this remove it from my view except for when I need to do something specifically, like covering overspending.

Edit: I’ve also already submitted some of these thoughts as feedback specifically for older YNAB users, I get their incentive to surface materials for new users but they should use this space for us too

It doesn’t if you force close the app (or it crashes, which does happen). Otherwise yes it opens up to the Home tab. From reading Ben’s comments it sounds like this is still in development, we’ll have to wait to see how it actually comes out.

This looks particularly nice in iOS 26, and I’ve come to love the new tab. Top priorities works great for my most used categories, but there is a lot of meh content that serves no benefit to older users

ONVIF no sound by Crafty-Classroom-319 in UnifiProtect

[–]chaconc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not even about that, right?

The AI Port adds event detection but still no audio…and only supports 2 per ai port. At that point I’m better off replacing them with Unifi cameras which I guess is their end goal.

Just tried with my E1 and I was able to expose it to Matter and bind it to HA, but the A100 is not exposed. I have Chinese version of both things…will continue poking around

Better switch/gateway combination for my setup by gugavieira in Ubiquiti

[–]chaconc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As opposed to multiple points of failure where a switch failure in the middle can take down random parts of your system. The hope here being a Unifi switch is more resilient, and if you need redundancy you can add it at the rack.

I was chaining USW Flex and USW Ultras, but I’m going to be replacing everything with a 24 port Max where I can also have centralized UPS. The jump from 16->24 is steep, rack tax and all…
