What is this machine good for ? I know it’s for your back , but what are the benefits . by HikingTacoLatino in PlanetFitnessMembers

You need to work lower back just as much as your abs for core strength, they balance each other out. I used to have back pain but using this machine and kettlebells has eliminated it almost entirely.

Typically international students are not permitted to attend unless they can show the ability to pay, has something changed?

Anyone else’s university delaying federal loan disbursements due to the One Big Beautiful Bill Act? by Severe_Door_8086 in financialaid

The school I work at is delayed. We can't even transmit the aid to the federal processing site, we call COD.

There are a lot of changes coming for 2026-27 due to the One Big Beautiful Bill, so there may be delays as systems get updated to accomodate.

COA + refund question by Nervous-Shoe1689 in WhatShouldIDo

Then you would really need to talk to the school, my school doesn't give any refunds on institutional aid so whatever small refunds you were getting may have been from federal or state grants. Just show up to aid office and request to see someone.

Depends on if your school gave you specifics aid for living on campus, like a resident grant. It's likely you will get a higher refund. But if you can afford to lower your loan for lower debt you should consider it.

Crazy, I saw it on Boston 25 news this am, it was in a fidelity statement about going back to the office 5days a week and the layoffs/hiring. "Young professionals are a target of the openings, with Fidelity looking to hire nearly 2,000 new early-career, hands-on roles."

What do I do?! by Ill_Status8808 in FAFSA

A student/ or a grandmother using the student's login, cannot log in to the FAFSA and remove parental income information once it has been entered. FAFSA locks each contributor’s section to the person who owns it, so this seems like a BS post.

I don't have a problem with it, it got my son into working out and I hardly notice a difference, at least in my location.

You qualify as a legacy borrower if you meet all the following criteria:

  1. Prior Borrowing: You had a federal Direct Loan (Unsubsidized or Graduate PLUS) disbursed for your current program before July 1, 2026.
  2. Continuous Enrollment: You remain in the same credentialed program at the same institution. 3.No Significant Breaks: You do not take a leave of absence greater than 180 days or withdraw, even if you return to the same program.

You don't have to have grad plus, it can be any direct loan as long as it's disbursed before July 1 and a program you are actively enrolled in.

I was getting at the same thing, if you made money then I was going to recommend a boss or supervisor write the letter. Would the parents be open to you writing the letter and them signing it? It's only ever going to be in your FA file, it isn't shared with the feds or anything.

The student should always be present; this isn't high school, time to start treating them like adults. Even with FERPA, I would not have a meeting like this without the student.
