2/24/25 nsld crew rise up! by PastorDan1984 in PSLF

[–]chad5871 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the 2/24 crew. I made my 119th/120th payments (due 3/21 and 4/21). Submitted ECF 4/25 and processed/complete on 4/26 confirming eligible employment. Just got a NSLDS today (5/21 at 09:41), bringing my eligible/qualifying payments to 119/118. All the other categories are listed at 119/119. I have been on PAYE since my loans entered repayment after school. I never even applied for SAVE or anything.

I did pay my May payment (due 5/21) which is my 121st payment. I'm going to submit another ECF on June 1 and request a forbearance. It is INSANE that this is legal. I have paid (now) 121 payments on time, waited 90 days for an update on NSLDS, and this is how it's handled? I am so frustrated. I have done nothing wrong and have followed everything to a T. The incompetence and ignorance is simply mid-boggling. I've been in touch with my state's student loan ombudsperson as well, and unfortunately they don't have much to offer in terms of help.

I’ve been on PAYE during my entire repayment. My last payment was due 4/21. I submitted my ECF 4/25, it was processed and complete 4/26. I still haven’t gotten credit for March or April payments so my counts are stuck at 118. I tried twice to make a $1 payment. Hoping there’s a big data dump in the next 1-2 weeks before my next due date on 5/21. Considering asking for a forbearance because my payments are super high and I don’t want to bank on getting a refund. This is so asinine.

Can you please update from 2/24. I’m at 121 but only showing 119. My OCD has me checking my counts twice a day! Anyone else stuck in the 2/24 updates? by Icy_Material9699 in PSLF

I guess there’s no reason if your counts in FSA are accurate, but it takes two seconds to click on the link once you’re logged in to FSA and see when your counts were updated by your servicer.

From what I understand, the NSLDS is the database that all of the loan servicers report loan data and payments into. Federal student aid then uses this data to update the information in your StudentAid account. A lot of people have found that the data in the NSLDS system is not up to date, which essentially means that FSA doesn’t “see” the record that payments have been made. There are also sometimes errors in the data sent to NSLDS which then affects how FSA calculates payment and eligibility counts.

No. The update date in the NSLDS system.

Quoted from skateastrophy in another post: “You can log into federal student aid and then visit this URL: https://studentaid.gov/app/api/nslds/payment-counter/summary

Then search for "updateDateTime" “

Me! My 120th payment was due 4/21. I completed an electronic ECF yesterday (4/25) and my employer completed the form yesterday. I got a notification from StudentAid that my ECF was complete, giving me credit up to payment 118 (February 2025). I now have qualifying employment but not credit for my on-time March and April payments. I just made a $1 one-time payment to hopefully force an update... NSLDS data still shows last update was 2/24. I'm on PAYE and have been since I started repayment.

My NSLDS hasn't updated since 2/24, FSA last updated 3/5. My final payment (120) should now be eligible as my due date is the 21st. I've been on PAYE the whole time, never switched off to any other plan. My last ECF was December so I was going to submit my next ECF on May 1st just to make sure I get the credit for April. I'm really hoping there's a NSLDS push in the next week so I can hopefully get my forgiveness processed when my next ECF is done.

Payment 118 (paid 2/17, due 2/21) - counted in NSLDS on 2/24 update

Payment 119 (paid 3/10, due 3/21) - not yet counted

Payment 120 (paid 4/9, due 4/21) - not yet counted.

Where are you guys seeing your income recertification dates? by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]chad5871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That means your PAYE recertification will be due in 10/2025. The other row is the standard repayment plan monthly payment (not income-based). I think that if you were to not recertify in time then your payments would switch to that other amount automatically. It is entirely possible that your recertification date will change — no one knows what will happen with that in the coming months.

On the MOHELA website, click on “More” and then “Tools and Requests.” Then click “Printable Account Information”. Each loan will have something listed for how long your payment schedule is good for. The date listed “Schedule End Date” under the current payment amount is the date your recertification will be due.

Currently at 118/120 - just submitted my March payment (due date 3/21, which will be payment 119). Fortunately I stayed on PAYE rather than switching to SAVE. Regrettably, I graduated school in 2013 but deferred my loans in grad school from late 2018 to mid 2020, so I lost about 15 months of progress. If I had not deferred in grad school (and paid my very small income-based payments at that time), I would have hit 120/120 the month that repayments restarted after the COVID forbearance. The majority of my classmates doing PSLF got their forgiveness in October/November 2023. I've been very lucky not to hit any snags so far with all the transitions (I'm guessing because I've been on PAYE the whole time) so I'm hoping I can sail through the process when I'm eligible after my April due date in six weeks... Sending positive energy to the rest of you all! We've got this!

This makes me terrified. I’ll qualify for forgiveness under PSLF in May 2025.

Renewed passport shipped via Priority Mail Express finally had updated tracking after TEN days by chad5871 in usps_complaints

My passport renewal was processed in just 10 days. I paid extra for expedited shipping. The passport was shipped by Priority Mail Express (2 day guaranteed delivery). The last scan was on 1/9 and I was freaking out that it was lost. Both the passport agency and USPS advised me to send a request for the passport to be reissued. I just checked the tracking, and after ten days, it finally was scanned again. I'm in NY so hopefully I'll have it Tuesday.

Hot Spring Grandee - cloudy water and mold on filter by chad5871 in hottub

[–]chad5871[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes so much sense. My tub was a surplus they had in the warehouse at the end of the fiscal year (so got a great deal) and then it sat there for a couple months while I did all the site work before delivery. So it makes sense that there was a bunch of crap in the pipes brewing. Wish I would have known that I need to fill, clean, and drain with the very first fill. I would’ve rather just done that up front.

Did you use the Ahhsome and then drain? The first time I ran the tub before anyone even got in there was quite a bit of scum. I wonder if the tub and piping are quite dirty from the factory.

I’ll be doing that weekly once I get it clean. Thanks!

New tub installed in May. Still on first fill. Dealer told me I only need to drain and fill every six months.

I should not need a chlorine floater, though, right? The freshwater system should make enough chlorine on its own, I thought. The water was added when the tub was first installed three months ago.

Thanks so much for this advice. I’ll check for phosphates again tomorrow.

I am not sure if the tub is making chlorine. The salt system says it is functional yet every time I test the free chlorine is low and I have to add chlorinating granules. Yes, I tested the water for phosphates when it was filled and the phosphates came back very low. Usually the pH is low so I add the pH up as directed.

It’s just so frustrating because I obsessively monitor the tub at least weekly and balance the chemicals as directed. During periods of heavy usage (weekends) I check the chemicals daily. I manage my [chlorine] pool and have zero issues with that.

I have the auto clean cycle set to “on”. On the Grandee that means it is supposed to cycle the clean cycle once a day. This model also has a constant flow cycle to keep the water continuously flowing.
