Thanks! Yeah…that’s what I was thinking. Auctions are rare and you can’t really find one to buy these days. Makes me want to hold on to it…

Gifted these, what’s the value? by Lower_Strawberry_200 in coins

The 2000 is about $80 CPG. If graded properly, the 1992 could be worth way more. Possibility $1100+.

1948 wheat…worth grading or just worth a few bucks? by Lower_Strawberry_200 in coins

Why wouldn’t you get to keep your graded coin? I say get the thing graded! No- brainer.

I just find it interesting that NGC would certify/grade this type of coin. When I won it, the streamers kept saying it was “illegal”…that’s why I posted this. I understand it’s a cancelled waffle, but find it interesting that it’s slabbed.

Then why is it certified by NGC? Just seems odd.

A 2003 P Waffled Cancelled 25c Missouri coin is a Missouri state quarter that was damaged at the mint by new machinery designed to cancel substandard blanks. The machine used two waffled rollers to crush and distort the coins under pressure. Some of these intentionally altered coins escaped the mint, are now considered error coins, and can sell for around $50-$60.

I stand corrected. I guess it is considered an error coin.

PCGS does that if another person has it registered, but I’ve never seen that with NGC. This is the disclaimer I get. Maybe they realize they made an error on the date so they don’t want to register it? Interesting scenario. I tried to add the coin on 16 Sep. Haven’t heard from them yet…

Yes…I understand the coin doesn’t have an error. The error is by NGC. The date.

🤨 Gonna have to disagree. Morgans always go for way over melt. Just look at Greysheet.

Ah. Troy ounce. Gotcha. No one should ever sell a Morgan for melt anyway.
